Looks nice! FWIW, I have built a few drawer systems now and have had a lot of success using just a single locking slide, on up to a 40" slide. These are allegis/accuride slides. No need for two locking units, will save you a few dollars and the hassle of deploying two locking mechanisms...
Thanks for the suggestions guys, will start checking these out. I've wanted for a number or letter bit enough times when using riv-nuts or other tight clearance items that I'll be happy to have a complete set. I know many of them won't get used but it's worth it to have whatever I need handy...
Gentlemen,
The time has come to buy a complete set of drill bits. I've had a few sets of misc. Dewalt and others available from the local home center. They dull quickly when drilling metal.
I would like a complete set of number and letter and fractional bits. Does anyone have any...
I just built a very nice slide setup for an arb63. Materials cost $200. Accuride 500# locking slide some angle aluminum and a quarter sheet of 3/4" ply. Works way nicer than my arb slide I paid $360 for!
Congrats! That sounds like a good deal, one of the cheapest 06+ MYs I've heard of, even given the higher mileage.
Personally I'd rather buy something that needs a TB and new tires so that I can either do the work myself or make sure I get it done at a shop of my choosing, and get to select...
I just made this for a friend and local club member for his 80-series. Very happy with the Allegis heavy duty slides, especially for the fridge. The heavy duty slides were probably overkill for the smaller drawer under the fridge though. He has the right side drawer loaded up with all his...
I just built a custom drawer setup and fridge slide for a member of our local club. I used the allegis single locking slide, heavy duty. It works really really well. If you can mount the slides vertially, this is a much cheaper option than the ARB or other commercial slide. Plus it looks a...
Brushhogger, your friend is a man in business. And it sounds like he is very successful and doing a good job of it, no problem there for sure!
Ashley at Moby is purporting to be a business man.
Tgreening spelled it out quite elegantly above.
Ben, that looks awesome! Would love to see more photos and hear some specs. Love the fridge location and hatch shape. Does the hatch seal nicely so that while open you can still use the galley and not get wet?
Total dimensions and weight? Looks like 5x10 cabin?
And also, to contribute, here is a Bluesea 100 I ran to the cargo area of my 100 series. 4# power and ground run to the back. It powers my inverter, fridge, rear LED backup lights, a National Luna LED on the cargo hatch and some USB ports for the kids in the backseat.
Why did you go with the 150? That seems like a bit overkill for what you plan to have it powering.
Does anyone know of any smaller boxes that would do maybe 3-4 relays and fuses? I just need something small up front in the engine bay to run the LED light bar and fog lights.
Thanks!
@chazz layne - I've no dog in the fight, just wanted to comment that had the above explanation come with the initial banning it would've provided more credence to your decision. From my side of the keyboard there wasn't anything ban-worthy in the initial posting and that's why myself (and...
Hi guys, was curious if the slide out cutting board has some type of stop mechanism to keep you from pulling it all the way out? Fully extended, how sturdy is it?
Thanks!
@azbuman - thanks for the kudos. It's a nice truck and the family and I really enjoy it. We've gone on some pretty fun trips the past 2 years and hope to continue the adventure. We had the 2 kids, siberian husky and wife and myself packed in there last summer for a 2.5 week trip out west...
I'm not sure how much experience you guys have actually using these things, but you might want to consider ease of access when deciding on your mounting method. Usually when you need to use them you will need them multiple times in a day and when you're done using them they will either have snow...
Not sure where exactly your wife is or the truck is. I'm 30' south of harrisburg if I can be of any help. And the guys at main line overland are over in west Chester and a knowledge group. They actually did an inspection on a 100 for me that I ended up not buying in lieu of waiting to find a...
Care to share how you wired the rear switch? I have my rear lights on a spdt switch. While I probably honestly won't go through the effort of adding a 3 way switch in the rear I like the idea of it!
