iPad not receiving GPS like it should

Yeah... that's what I was thinking DaveInDenver. No, change that - I have no idea what you guys are talking about - too technical for me. Glad there are smart folks out there! And of course, my phone is an android, so probably not much communicating going on between my phone and iPad. I'm...

iPad not receiving GPS like it should

So I received a Garmin GLO 2, and yesterday tested it out after putting in on a charger to make sure the battery was fully charged. The GLO 2 device was smaller than I expected - which is a good thing. And then I paired it with my iPad: Link: (239) Connecting a Garmin Glo Bluetooth GPS with...

Light duty winches (ATV) on small to medium sized 4x4s.

This is sounding like too much work. These small ATV winches have what... 50ft of cable? And probably a very small diameter cable at that. And now you're wanting to add to your kit a bunch of snatch blocks, winch cable extensions, and you're HOPING it'll work if you're not stuck TOO badly...

Light duty winches (ATV) on small to medium sized 4x4s.

My wife's 2017 Subaru Crosstrek (a small SUV) weighs 3100lbs (+/- 100lbs). I would feel comfortable putting a 4500 or (preferably) 5500 lb winch up front. And they do make a kit for it. That puts it within the 1.5 times vehicle weight. Primitive XV Winch & Mount - Primitive Racing...

iPad not receiving GPS like it should

Mine is a model A2197 (Wi-Fi only). iPod, iPhone & iPad Specs By Apple Model Number: Everyi.com GAIA has been very responsive to my questions. I can see why they are so popular. They also sent me this: Using External GPS Devices with Gaia GPS (Dual XGPS, Bad Elf, etc.) – Gaia GPS Someone...

iPad not receiving GPS like it should

My iPad definitely isn't set-up for GPS (Wi-Fi only). I'm looking at this for pairing with my iPad: Dual XGPS150A Universal Bluetooth GPS Receiver (gpscity.com) Anyone have any experience with this? It comes with an armband strap; I'm thinking I could strap it to the roll-bar in the back...

iPad not receiving GPS like it should

You guys are great. I'm learning stuff. Also looks like I'm learning my iPad doesn't have cellular. I'm not seeing it in settings. I'll pull the protective cover thing off it tomorrow to look on the back cover for the model number (thanks for the "Identify your iPad model" link). Any links...

iPad not receiving GPS like it should

So if I understand you two correctly, some iPads only receive signal from WIFI, and some will also allow you to connect to GPS if they are "cell data capable". That's making sense. So how do I tell if my iPad is "cell data capable"? Would it be in "Settings" somewhere? Is there another term...

iPad not receiving GPS like it should

I downloaded GAIA (premium version or whatever it is called) on both my little android phone, and on my gen 7 iPad. I'm doing the TAT this summer, and was able to get the TAT maps downloaded on both devices. That's not the problem. The GPS works just fine on the phone. The little arrow shows...

    Decent Winch For 8,000lb Van.

General winch conventional thinking is 1.5 times your vehicle weight. So you'd want something around 12,000 lb capacity.

    Harbor Freight (type) Trailer Suspensions

The way these HF-type frames are designed, the cross members are slightly smaller than the front-to-back pieces. This way the crossmembers can fit inside the front-to-back pieces and be bolted together. So if you buy a bunch of same-sized thin-wall channel, it isn't going to fit together as...
