    5 gal water bottles

Try Sportsman's Warehouse. Supposed to be one in Salem. The one by my house has the LCI's.

    Frontrunner 20L can Spigot Mod

Clever solution. I go to Home Depot and before I know it, hours have gone by. Have you found a non "plastic taste" hose to attach to the spigot?

Review: Treeline Outdoor 2 Person RTT Sleeping Bag

Thank you for doing this review. It's always helpful to read other's experiences with equipment. I'm always on the lookout to upgrade.

"TrailTop" modular trailer topper building components

Seems like I've seen popup campers that have the fabric stay attached and bungee's are attached that draw the fabric in as the top is lowered.

Looking forward to see how deal with the fabric when folding up the lid.

Vehicle fridge freezer: Making ice and refrigerating food/beverages.

Never mind. I see they're not liquid.

Vehicle fridge freezer: Making ice and refrigerating food/beverages.

Say you use those Whiskey Stones for your drinks in the evening. Rinse and out them back in your National Luna before you go to sleep. Will they be frozen by next midday?

"TrailTop" modular trailer topper building components

Hmmm. How about a pop up truck bed camper shell? Shell could be cab height for travel. Pop up on tail end only for a quick lunch out of the rain. Pop up on both ends when stopped for the night. It would only need to pop up tall enough to sit up comfortably.

Thank you for the comments. That National Luna is beautiful. I also found the OXO sealable ice cube trays on Amazon.

Vehicle fridge freezer: Making ice and refrigerating food/beverages.

I saw a comment on another thread and I didn't want to hijack. So it's possible to make ice AND cool food and beverages? What if you're on a severe road and your ice cubes aren't quite frozen? How do you keep the water contained?

    Tent trailer

The Jumping Jack X4 would work if you: Set up your tow vehicle as if for ground tent camping, put extra water jugs, a toilet and shower on the tongue, and bedding in water proof duffles on top of the pod. The trailer is VERY solid and the tent is huge.

    Tent trailer

I was going to mention the Jumping Jack. They were at Overland Expo. The X4 version they make is impressive. Absolutely unbreakable. The trailer is super solid, heavy duty. You could rock crawl with it and not break it. BUT, when you fold up the trailer, there is only room for the mattress...

My built from scratch brutally strong camper shell

I camped by Lone Pine once. Years ago. Slept in the open bed of my Toyota pickup. Just about asleep and something swooped right over me. Pretty sure it was an owl. Kinda freaked me out.

I hope you proceed. I really want a tear drop trailer behind my Nissan Pathfinder. Doable with or without your concept. But your concept makes it easier, lighter, and cheaper.

Land Cruiser 60 Series vs Newer Tacoma

Lots of spot on comments. Flagster summed it up well. So get both. Start with a Tacoma. You can jump on the Interstate, go long, do your thing in the back country and come home. Keep your eyes open for a decent, good price, stock 60. Make it 100% and use it for close to home adventures. Win win.

    Toroweap Rendezvous

Several years ago I was trying to camp at the North Rim Grand Canyon. Reservations were required and it was booked solid. So I kept checking back and, surprise ONE site opened up. I booked, we went, and there were empty sites everywhere. The only consolidation with this system is at least you...
