The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

Yeah - lots of cross-over with 4 runner now, I don't see the logic either. Do we have any specs on axles? Guessing since this is based off the GX550 and the GX550 is a downsized version of the LX600 it's going to follow the same logics as the LC200 vs GX460 and get the Prado/4runner/Tacoma...

    Correct as usual.

I agree....but I don't love the electric motor analogy, there are 200 vs 1 moving parts to your point but 1 electric wire vs 2000 complex electric connections....not to count the software aspect. I only bring that up because that is always a big selling point for electric vehicles, many less...

Sold 2013 Mitsubishi Fuso Canter FG B72 4x4

He answered: "Nice rig! We've been researching fuso's ever since we sold our sportmobile. Finding a good platform to build on has be a real challenge. There's a lot of data to take in... I have a few questions, I hope they aren't totally ignorant. A lot of our research has been focused on...

    INEOS Grenadier

LOL - yeah, those old tires on Rovers were like 30" x 7", new tires these days are so wide you can't see over the suckers! So you think that stated capacities are without a spare tire?

    INEOS Grenadier

Ranger/Chevy's are 7500ish and 1500ish, new Tacoma is apparently going to get a bump too, so it's in same ballpark but the Ineos does edge them out by ~150 lbs.

Payload and towing are in-line with other "mid" size 1/4 ton rigs - what am I missing?

    Sold - 2009 Isuzu NPR HD - Ridgerock 4x4 - Vortec 6.0

Cool truck - I like the idea of the Vortec in these, easy engine changes, upgrades and parts in any town in the US with it being pretty easy to work on.....

Grenadier Questions and Answers? Post'em Up

I doubt its "paid" but more of a not for profit situation, I really hope for a fair review of the rig...but honestly see this as a win/win, Ineos funds a huge African trip = marketing on the biggest overland outlet and Scott gets a huge bump in veiwership due to them driving around Africa in a...

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

They also have bigger differentials and axles from my understanding.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

Zero chance and good riddance - they don't work well loaded in the N American market, it has the power to weight ratio of an old VW bus....great for banging through the DRC, no so much for any hwy with hills. I'd take a 70 w/1GR before the diesels....

So, I looked at a 62 for sale today

The pricing of these things are off the charts! I remember when a really clean 60, 15 years ago, sub 150kish miles, was $4-5k all day. I don't see the value now beyond aesthetics, expensive to maintain, poor mileage, parts are becoming hard to find....they are enthusiast rigs these days that...

I'd expect if they don't the consumer / enthusiasts groups will in short order.

Risks of buying a new Grenadier

If the looks of a modern LC don't bother you and the fact that it's a bit bougie / you don't need the "simplified" rig that the Gren offers I think it's a no brainer, the LC is by far less risk. The LC is a known commodity, proven itself, based on proven industrial design / build methodology...

Risks of buying a new Grenadier

The rest of the jeep was built to a higher standard too, I think it came with a D60 rear axle OEM: https://www.quadratec.com/products/52446_103_T.htm

Risks of buying a new Grenadier

If Jeep is watching, they should do absolutely that in the US. I know they had a military one in the last 10 years that had HD axles and a diesel that other countries got that we didn't, but they could and would 100% eat into "commercial" sales like the Gren is aiming at with exactly what you...

My 3/4 T offroad is a bumpy mess but it does it, no worse than an old leaf sprung Hilux or old square body Chev.....but step up to say a PowerWagon, get softer suspension, F&R lockers + still more load carrying capacity than a Gren and a full size truck starts to make more sense.

Pre-Order is up on the site. Let the wait begin.

Why would it be tongue in cheek? The point is why spend $1200 on something that is not going to add value to an expo rig...you have more tire choices in 17's + more sidewall AND it's cheaper, win-win-win....what am missing? Plenty of LR E tires in 17's that work fine on HD pickups with plenty...
