Made the home runs from the solar to the solar controller. Used marine sealant for the roof pass through, and really poured it to it. The final bit of L-Track is done on the rear, and added the rear plate mount. Then I got to making the spare tire mount up front. I used a 24x12x1/4" 6061 plate...
I wonder if marine sealant would work well for something like that. It's not only a sealant, but it bonds as well. I've use it with alot of success on many different things.
Crazy to hear. My DCU MAX was literally perfect. The welds looked amazing, there was nothing out of place and no sharp corners or metal shavings to speak of.
Getting closer. Most of the solar is now up, doing tie ins tomorrow hopefully to the Redarc BCDC. Then at least that part will be done mostly. Ill do the final 300 watt panel later with the locking drawer slide, but i have the brackets for it mounted and ready. Will be 700watts stowed, and 1000...
I'd say 20 degrees is already impressive for how tall you are. It will all depend on bottom vs top weight however. Beyond professionally tip testing, I'm not sure how else you would find your limit.
Got some L-Track up front. In and fully mounted, as well as the powder coated NOS jerry can holder. The center two will be for the mount that will hold my spare tire. And the side two will be there to mount and switch around accessories as we need depending on the use case for that trip. I want...
Started getting the 1515/8020 extrusion up for the solar. Also mounted the rear ARB awning which will be the changing room off the back step. Had to stop because I'm out of bolts, and needed a different bracket for the panels themselves. I'll still be flush mounting the panels, but want to drop...
Are you guys really getting moisture intrusion into your FWC? It almost sounds like the roof is too lightweight. I ended up buying a Hallmark, and I'm super happy, but we almost did buy a FWC and hadn't heard of this issue before. I'm very curious. What are your thoughts?
Slowly chipping away at the details. That trim filler to cover the screws on the rear hatch doors is a REAL PITA to put in, but it's done now. Added my flags, and then added the awning brackets, which will also be the mounts for the upper 1515 8020. I'm very ready to get onto the solar part of...
I've been needing to go to Alcan for springs a couple years now. I hope to take a trip to them this year. Please post up what you think of them once on.
