    One-burner propane stove?

So... will 7100 BTUs be enough to make muffins with my Gas One dual-fuel stove? In the interest of scientific inquiry, I decided to make blueberry muffins. So out came the Gas One single burner stove, my old-school Coleman folding oven (that goes on top of the stove), and my "use this one...

    MaxTrax, are they worth it?

The "X-Bulls" used in the test above look like these (and thank-you again for posting your test): Maybe Rough Country is selling a previous generation of the earlier X-Bulls - I don't know. But doing a quick Amazon search for the ones used in the testing above identified as X-Bulls was not...

    MaxTrax, are they worth it?

These are the X-Bulls that I have (pictured below). If I remember right, they had a previous version (2nd generation?) that were rated at 5-tons; the one I have are rated at 10-tons (called 3rd generation). I think the ones tested a few posts above (loved it by the way - Thanks!) are the...

    One-burner propane stove?

One thing I haven't tried with my little gas-one single burner stove is using my folding Coleman Oven. I actually haven't used this thing in decades, but I'm trying to downsize for my next big adventure. Normally it is just me or one other person (I'll be the only one in my vehicle on this...

    BearStream

Looks like it would be great for cold weather travel! It's about time someone thought "outside the cave". After you wash it, do you have to use conditioner?

    Weight on top of RTT?

It might support the weight. But if the kayak is putting pressure on the tent and "wiggling" (for lack of a better term) while bouncing down the road it MIGHT rub a hole in something underneath (like tent fabric that is resting on a support pole or something).

Freeze dried hash browns - who else likes them?

Yes and yes. Spam for breakfast! The fewer things that need to be refrigerated, the better.

Hand Winch worth it or no?

Thanks. I get my hugs from Mrs. rnArmy. Anyone remember this picture from the March 2017 issue of JP magazine? She would not have been a happy camper if we got stuck and it took hours to get back rolling because I didn't have a winch. Or we had to hike a couple hours to get help when our...

Hand Winch worth it or no?

Totally. And a front mounted winch takes up ZERO cargo space inside your Jeep's limited cargo area. And even a fully stocked winch accessory bag only takes up about as much space as a boat cushion or a small soft tool bag.

Hand Winch worth it or no?

We need a flatfender overlanding/expedition trip. Here's an option (straight from this forum's header): https://expeditionportal.com/ovroutes-pacific-crest-oregon-segment/ I just need to wire in a brake controller in my flatty so I can tow (and stop!) my little trailer. And why do I have a...

Hand Winch worth it or no?

I have winches and recovery boards. I guess I would use whichever one was the best and safest choice for the situation. It is good to have a choice (winch vs. recovery boards).

Hand Winch worth it or no?

So I went and looked at the OP's first post. I also highlighted a few things from that post. Quote: I don't wheel hard anymore it's more exploratory wheeling. I often take my young kids (5 & 3) exploring forest or logging roads and setup camp. I try not to get myself into situations that I...

Hand Winch worth it or no?

I think I've had mine for 30 years now. I'll probably never get rid of it even though it hurts my knee to drive it. It keeps my other Jeep company in the shop. It is never lacking for power off-road; just don't expect to go fast on pavement. (But to keep this thread on track) I think...

Hand Winch worth it or no?

Here's my little 46 Willys CJ2A. It looks clean, but that's because I give it a good washing every time I take it four-wheeling (to include pulling the brake drums and cleaning inside). It looks real good from a few feet away. It has been stuck a few times, and I've always been glad I put a...

Rotopax - Is there something better I should be using?

That's where I get my Jerry cans - Deutscheoptik.com They're good quality. I wish they still carried the 10L (2.5 gallon) cans.

Rotopax - Is there something better I should be using?

I've used the Kolpin versions of these fuel cells. They are very similar to the Rotopax, but not as expensive. You can see my 4-gallon fuel container in the picture between the cooler and the trailer tub. They do swell up a little bit in the heat (just like the Rotopax). They may be a...

    Costco has a RTT

Nope; that's called thinking outside the box. Like bolting a tent-cot on top of a trailer to use as an RTT.

    Kayaking in the Arctic Ocean

Kayaking is just a small part of the trip; almost an afterthought. The goal of the trip is to take 18 days and go over 5000 miles round-trip and run the Dempster Highway all the way to the Arctic Ocean and back. Lots of driving, but lots of camping, beautiful scenery, adventure, etc. And...

That annex thing over the ladder is very nice. First time I've seen something like that. It just makes sense! Does this RTT come with that?
