    milage?

That's one thing I love about my Cherokee XJ, on a 3" lift and 31" with 4.10 gears, I typically get on the highway 20-22mpg. (especially if I stay under 70) and around town about 17mpg. Cherokee is about 1000#'s lighter yet uses the same engine as the pre-JK models. :jumping:

    Compromises-

Personally I think you need to prioritize the type of wheeling you want to do. :sport_box Hearing how you have wheeled hard with a couple flops and looking at the cage design you want to do, I think your mindset is still in the hardcore arena. Not faulting the value of a good cage but in an...

    New Jeep!

I have the same size and model tires on my Cherokee and love them. Ride great, quiet and work great in the dirt, sand and rocks. :wings:

    Magellan Crossover 3.5"

Awesome!!!! Great write up and luckily, I have an iPaq with PocketPC as well as one with Mobil5. I'll have to download the program. BTW, how did you import your tracks into Google Earth? That is very cool. :26_7_2:

    Magellan Crossover 3.5"

Yep, that's the way. I think they did this so you would not accidently turn it on if you have it in a pocket or bag. Much rather wait 3 seconds then find it left on and now the battery is dead.

    Magellan Crossover 3.5"

Well, I got mine in the mail last week and have been playing with is some. First thing I did was the turn by turn mapping. As with most GPS routing systems, it wants to use more of the main roads versus side streets, which knowing the area, have less traffic and in turn are quicker. Even with...

    Gear's Baja JK Thread

Actually, the Chevy truck 5 on 5 starts in '71 and runs until '98. The '99 have 6 on 5.5 (1/2 ton & LD 3/4 ton), which is the same as '70 and earlier. Funny what's old is new again. Go figure. :REOutArchery02:

FS: Heavy Duty Roof Rack (San Diego)

Yeah, I knew it was a little heavy when I bought it but I didn't realize this heavy. Since this is having to be mounted to the top of my XJ, it really would overload the rails. Now if I had a Wrangler and could build a full "cage" type mount, like most of the ones you see, I would use this in...

FS: Heavy Duty Roof Rack (San Diego)

I am sure this would work for someone. :D I lowered the price in the post. Most likely it will need to be picked up due to the size. As for how to use it, if you have a larger rig which will handle the size/weight, this would work great and give you lots of tie down point, which you can...

    Magellan Crossover 3.5"

Don't feel bad, with the Costco membership price, the total shipped cost was $257.88 so you got a heck of a deal too. :wavey:

    Magellan Crossover 3.5"

Thanks guys? :sombrero: Had been looking at this unit and the reviews on it. Well at this price, I could not pass it up. Being a Costco member is an exspensive thing. Wife ordered for me today. :wings: BTW, you don't have to be a Costco member to order online but you will pay 5% more...

    LJ unlimited...just got 18mpg on a trip

Yep, I agree. The right combination for its intended use works better then just putting every bolt on you can. Not saying the group we were out with was part of that crowd. They were well built for the use. I did find it interesting that following some of the larger rigs, they would have to...

    LJ unlimited...just got 18mpg on a trip

Cool. Driving down to Borrego Saturday, from filling up in Mira Mesa, driving up to Escondido, then out to Borrego Springs, I was quite happy to find I got 20.44 MPG. That's on 31's with 4.10 gears on a 3" lift. We might have been the smallest rig but I bet we could have driven the furthest...

    The San Diego/TACODOC...Meet/Greet/Eat/N~Wheel!

Man what a great time. I know Lisa and I sure would have liked to camped out but being new into the ExPo world, we don't have any camp gear and such. That will be changing. I figure I would post the link to the pictures we took in this thread, just to keep it available for everyone who looks...

FS: Heavy Duty Roof Rack (San Diego)

I would but have no idea what the cost would be. My guess would be it would have to go freight due to the size and weight. I am not even sure how I would pack it. If you want to do the leg work on finding someone that would ship it, I would drop it off at the shipping company. Obviously the...

Not sure what the rules are for bumping. I apologize in advance if not appropriate. I'm sure this would work great for someone.
