Brett - just wanted to let you know that your tidily organized aux battery setup was an inspiration! Finally got the final tidbits installed last night and finished up:
4x4, thanks for the quick and helpful reply! I was hoping you'd have a quick and easy answer though :)
Will have to dig into this one night this week, fun wrench turning time is over for the weekend!
Thanks for the quick responses. The photo above shows the current mounting position but the original wiring. I just tapped into the power and ground wires that go to the 12V socket inside the center console. Step#2 was to add an aux ground under the bolt you can see on the left side of the...
Expo- this is driving me nuts! I've got a Cobra 75 handheld CB. I had it tied into the 12V outlet in the center console, but was getting a loud static sound when the truck was in reverse. So I added a 2nd ground to a nearby bolt. Still got the noise! Last night I wired the CB into my...
The only compelling reason to not want them seperate is to utilize the factory switch for a clean looking install. In this photo he is using the 80-series switch for the rear and front locker, and a OEM light switch directly above the locker switch which turns the compressor on.
I am now...
I've got the OEM rear e locker and installing an arb front. I guess my real question was this:
How many times have you gotten into a situation where you wanted the front locked and rear open??
Expo Folks,
What are your thoughts on wiring for the front locker? I'll be installing an ARB front in my LC in a few weeks time. I was planning to use the OEM 80-series switch (which only turns on the front once the rear is already on):
I got into a situation this past weekend at the Bill...
Hi Nic - two quick questions for you:
1. do you have the rubber boots, black and red, for the mil-spec battery terminals?
2. do you have any experience with the pioneer plastics water jerry can? I just posted a thread a few days ago asking for folks opinions on the Frontrunner jerry can...
So Zimm you ended up getting a Harrop locker from Iron Pig? Let us know how it goes. Also, you can use my air compressor whenever your CO2 tank runs out ;)
dstock - that brass spigot upgrade looks like a great way to spend $10 if it actually works!
Man, I can't believe how hard it is to find an easy to use convenient water solution! I like the fact that Rotopax and Scepter are virtually leak-free, but I want something that is quicker and easier...
An ARB is $1020 shipped to my door. So the e-locker would be about $400 more when you factor in freight.
You could argue that not having to buy an air compressor would make up some of that difference, but the compressor is useful for other things as well as long as you go with one of the...
Expo Members,
I'm looking for a convenient way to carry water for the family camping trips. We've got 2 kids and a large dog and tend to use more than our fair share.
Our cheapy Coleman container actually is great for our needs, but unfortunately lasted not quite two trips before the spout...
Would love to hear more about this. I didn't know they made them for the 100 series. A few of the Bronco guys have the Eaton E-locker and are very happy with them.
My '99 with the weaker 2 pinion front diff needs an upgrade, I don't have any particular aversion to ARB but didn't know...
Any other benefits to these besides they don't bend as easily when you bounce on them? :)
Between your exploits and the 100 in the Expedition Overland series I've been getting some serious inspiration for my truck. Do wish these things weren't so heavy though. Mine's not quite that bad yet...
