Looks like an awesome event! I'll actually be out that way at the end of April for a cycling race. It's a long drive from PA, so I don't think two trips are in the cards.
Hopefully someone will take and post some tracks of your route. Would be nice to do some exploring and camping on my...
Really like the first gen Sequoias. Was strongly considering an 03 or 05 before deciding I needed the additional off road prowess of the LC.
Will enjoy watching your build. Where you located?
Did I miss the post where you detailed your battery install? I'm trying to order new terminals for my Grp31 DHM battery and Slee battery bracket and trying to figure out what I need.
Thanks!
How do I know how much voltage drop is acceptable?
FWIW, I've got an aux fuse panel in the back of my LC, fed from my aux battery. 4# power and ground run to a Bluesea Safetyhub 100. Trying to determine wire size for the following:
1. 10amp ARB fridge. 10' total run roundtrip.
2...
Hello all,
Trying to understand 12V electrical wiring and having a tough time of it. I'm planning out various wiring upgrades and figuring out what size/gauge wire I need and have found that the charts seem to vary wildly.
For example:
Show different gauge wires!!!
Just take for...
Thanks for the info guys. There is a warn repair center just across the street from me so this is the way I'll be going unless something crazy happens in the next month or two.
I don't plan on taking the truck out until the spring so will wait until then to make the purchase and install.
I was planning to get the Slee step-sliders but they didn't have them in stock when I drove past on my way home from picking up my LC. So I ended up with the Metaltech/OPOR sliders. I got dimple die plates in the rear and am very happy with them...
Modding the 3rd gen will be a lot cheaper.
If it's just you or you plus one then the 4r would have my vote.
If you've got a large crew and want to carry heavy loads the LC would get the nod.
I would base your decision on what you want the final build to look like. We started building up our 3rd gen, but with 2 kids, an 80lb dog and a penchant for not packing light, we easily overloaded it for anything longer than a 1-2 day trip. We got a great deal on it, but it's lived its life...
Off-topic, but still a highlift question. I got mine less than 30 days ago. Already starting to rust, no use at all just a decoration on the back of my bumper so far.
Is this to be expected? I purchased through Amazon so they will replace for free but don't want to deal with packing shipping...
Glad to hear you like the VR. You'll probably use it way more than I will. I'd love to save a few bucks but I know I'll regret going cheap if something ever goes wrong...
Tough decisions :)
Just to confirm, will there be any issue fitting a thimble to the included Warn synthetic line?
Jonesey! Is this the winch you ended up with? I got an ARB for the 'Cruiser on black friday sale, and it arrived a few days ago. Trying to sort out the winch now and doing some research on the VR10000 this popped up. I've got my choice narrowed down to the Engo10000s($426), VR10000s($750)...
