I got new tires about 2 weeks ago, out washing truck today noticed when I touched or bent valve stems air would release from base at rim. 3 of 4 do it but not losing pressure on a daily basis. What's going on here? Hopefully can get taken care of tomorrow but would liked to be informed before I...
yes no more bottoming out front end on speed bumps, tracks much better over rough roads, much better all around.
Front was cake, did both sides by myself in 1 1/2 hours.
Rear front spring hanger bolt was tough to remove, went though 15 blades on a sawzall and took about 2hrs to get off...
here it is OME880 and Wheelers 5 pak, 265/70....currently sittting at 1 1/2" before replacement.
The ride is so much better, I should have done this way before now. I love my truck as much as the day I got it!
Its all done and turned out exactly as I had hoped, ride is so much better! Those front hanger bolts on the rear were a biatch to remove, otherwise all went smooth. Right now still sitting at 1 1/2 front and 2 rear, this week hope to get new tires and alignment. Ill get pics up soon.
Have friend with a shop, going to get the rear done this saturday. Front 880s are working great, love the ride, they started out at the full 2" lift and have settled to 1
1/2" with about 200 miles on them.
Thanks Kurt! I guess I was doing everything right, just that 1 bolt causing me all the frustration. Would you recomend a front end alignment ASAP or should I wait for it to settle a little bit? Tires have 80k so not worried about bad wear on them.
Just came in from garage doing my suspension, front went in smooth no problems (OME 880), rear is a different story. Ive pulled and changed leafs on old jeeps and scouts but this was a whole different animal, thought I would breeze through it. I was out of my comfort zone on how high you have to...
I pulled the trigger on the 880s and Wheelers rear 5 pak. Just came in from garage, failed miserably at install. Front went in perect no problem, rear is another story, going to start a new thread with questions on that. The 880s on front with no break in are coming in at 2", so if settle...
BTT. One last shot, looking for real world front lift numbers on OME 880 on 04 Double Cab. ARB is saying 2in, most others say 1in, there doesnt seem to be anyone on this planet who has really done this. All go with 881. Proving difficult to figure out rear springs when not sure where the front...
Thanks for the responses.
1. Where do I go to get axle weights, Ive been landscape places but its total truck weight. This truck is stock, 100lb shell at most and around another 200lbs in rear when loaded for camping.
2. Really want OME on front, no spacers or coilovers.
3. Rear is sticking...
Really leaning towards 880 with a 5 leaf rear, just worried about having rear high look which I dont want. ARB is saying I will get 2" with 880, but both Cruiser Outfitters and Wheelers are indicating more like a inch for a doublecab. If it is 1" front and 1 1/2" rear should work out. I have a...
Splat: Looks nice, that about perfect for the single cab, how do you like the ride? Looks like you did get about 2"?
RMP&O: Thanks for the offer, still figuring out my plan.
Yes lets see it when finished.
Here at altitude I consistently get 19mpg, so really dont want to lose that or the power to get over the mountain passes that I enjoy now.
Still struggling with this....now leaning towards OME 880 which sound like it will give me a 1 inch lift, then getting some 1 1/2" rear springs (Deaver/Alcan). Stick with stock tire size and keep my MPG, from what I gather if I go 265/75 with 2inch lift I will lose 1-2MPG. Any experience or...
Yeah am leaning 881/Dakar and the 265/75, just doesnt seem to be a better option and I know it will be a good ride. Had OME on my Jeep and loved it, so.....
104K on my stock 04 Tacoma Dbl cab, springs have lost their life, rear is showing negative arch so its time to replace. I was going to go full OME route with 265/75 but with gas going to $4 I dont think I want to lose the extra 1-2mpg and 90% of the time I get where Im going at stock height and...
