    Canadians... What's it really like?

Wow- it must suck to be a subject of Canadia. American citizens don't have that problem- the law applies equally to us all here... ...except for tax laws. The top 5% of wage earners (guys like me) pay 60% of the taxes in this great nation, the bottom 50% of all wage earners pay 3% of the taxes...

    Helper Airbags or something equivalent

Why? You shouldn't need to add air bags to flat tow- flat towing adds virtually zero tongue weight.

    Understanding Wrangler/Gladiator drivetrains.

Thanks. It does show the Max Tow package is available as an option on the base-model Sport (non "S") model. Looks like a cheap way to get the wider HD 44 Rubicon axles, 4.10 gears, and a rear locker on the Gladiator, and if I'm not rock-crawling, I wouldn't need much more than that...

    Understanding Wrangler/Gladiator drivetrains.

I was just looking at the base model 2021 Gladiator Sport configurator, and it appears that they all come with Dana 44 axles now. I thought the Wranglers below the Rubicon came with Dana 30 front axles, and I had assumed that Gladiator would be the same, so I was a little confused. I also saw...

    Will a JKU on 35s fit on a U-haul trailer ?

It depends on the wheel offset. What wheels are on it?

Overlander Camper Frame Material: Aluminium vs Mild Steel vs Stainless Steel?

Thermal bridging would be a MAJOR issue with having the inner and outer skins both attached directly to a metal frame. No matter how much insulation you put in the voids, the heat or cold would be transmitted directly to the interior, making heating and cooling MUCH harder...

Modern truck camper for an adventurous family of five?

Yeah- put a porta-potty in the bed of a pickup truck with your family of five, and see how many are going to be comfortable taking a dump. Then imagine enclosing that airspace with walls and a ceiling, and ask yourself if that's going to make it better or worse...

    Canadians... What's it really like?

The first rule in law enforcement, is to go home at the end of your tour of duty. Anyone who poses a threat to that, gets what is most politely described as less than the benefit of the doubt. The second rule in law enforcement, is that if you show up for a fair fight, you're unprepared. We are...

    Advice Picking out Truck/Camper Combo

Sounds quite do-able. I'd recommend a stripped base-model standard-cab gas 4x4 long box SRW one-ton with a locking rear axle, and probably with whatever lower final drive option is available. It's not the sexy choice that all the cool kids want, but it gets you 4x4 and a long box in the least...

Modern truck camper for an adventurous family of five?

FWIW, 2500 and 3500 pickups are not even remotely "heavy duty"- they are LIGHT duty. Medium-duty trucks would be things like 550/5500, 650/6500, and 750/7500 chassis cabs. Heavy-duty trucks would be things that are bigger than that. For example, our RV, with it's 62,200 pound GVWR and 15-ton...

Modern truck camper for an adventurous family of five?

The problem with threads like this, is that the OP's stated goals span a range of vehicle needs that is too wide to be met by one vehicle, and what happens, is that the vehicle suggested ends up being bad at everything. In order to transport five people in a pickup, you would need a 4-door...

4" or 6" round lights on the windshield pillar?

I used hand-aimed Unity spot lights in the A-pillars of patrol cars for years, and it worked great. In my personally-owned trucks, I have often supplemented the existing lighting with a hand-held spot light on trails, also with good results...
