Yes, no issues removing the freedom panels. We take them off all the time. As you’d expect the rear hardtop is not removable since I would have to take the canopy camper off to get to it, but that is ok with us.
Yes the diesel is available for order, but with rumors about the hemi, I may just hold out to see what the best option will be.
We are not at all disappointed with the 3.6.
thank you! We generally only use the trails to connect us from Starbucks to the Whole Foods parking lot.
Kidding of course, but I read all the time how no one takes their trucks offroad and all Jeeps are mall crawlers.
Has anyone found good little bags to use in the Alu-Cab zippered pockets on the rear door or bulkhead of the camper?
I envision having a bag for 1st aid, or small toorolls or maybe something for personal hygiene or kitchen storage, that we could quickly grab and go.
of course, pics and amazon...
The pentastar paired with the 8speed is surprisingly better than it should be. To answer you though, ya, the 3.6 is not going to blow you away with its torque or power, but it is enough for the trails and keep pace on the highway.
i am really hoping the HEMI teaser is not just a tease. I think...

I have some bittersweet news!
Hodor and Bran are on the market.
Reason being, I need to sell the truck so that I can place my Diesel Gladiator...
@rin
for the gladiator folks, would this be able to go between the cab and the bulkhead if the camper? There is significant room that is under utilized for this location.

This is great! Very good and detailed write up of your experiences.
I absolutely love the canopy camper and glad we went this route.
I can’t wait to see your install and hopefully we will see you out on the trails!
More pics to enjoy. I am awful at nighttime pics. But I thought the one with the moon and the string lights turned out ok.
We survived our 1st true thunderstorm, the canopy camper did a fantastic job of keeping us dry and out of the elements! So much better than the old tent days.
The beautiful Rocky Mountains. Mostly Colorado, but we also do Wyoming and Montana. Need to head south soon and try to go west in the near future as well
I didn’t want to duplicate my pictures, but I added some to my build thread for those that are interested. Not much, but more to come...

Finally got around to installing the bug nets
And privacy screen
A quick pic of the basic interior. The fridge is plugged into the PLB40 which is currently plugged in the AC outlet
Thanks everyone!
There isn’t much to see inside, we just have our National Luna 52 fridge strapped down and powered by a Dometic PLB40 battery and a portable solar panel.
We are on a limited budget, and also need to wait for more companies to bring product to market.
Since the JT bed is...
Ok, so we bought these cheapy string lights, we didn’t have Velcro on hand, but we will line the interior of the tent this week.
And check out the elevation! 13,800’ not bad.
