    Fridge full time in vehicle

Mine is in the LR full time. Not on unless there is a road trip happening. After a trip I clean it out with the same spray bottle rubbing alcohol we use to clean windows, leave it open (cracked) for a day or two then it is closed till the next run. It is permanently mounted to the floor between...

Give me the truth, are Land Rovers complete crap?

If you can't get to a dealer to inspect it you better have a good friend that knows Rovers well if you are buying a used one. You have no idea what the PO has done or not done to the vehicle. Once you have a good one, respect a maintenance schedule like any reasonable person should do. Treat it...

mounting an ARB awning to Front Runner RR

Thanks for replies. Looking for a hard box (aluminum) for the awning enclosure not a fabric one. Who sells that type?

TRIP OF LIFETIME, DOUSED BY ATTITUDE

I am also retired and although I have not done all the plans, it is still a wonderful thing to have no scheduled stops. You will get the hang of it and it will be great. Enjoy and do what pleases you. It is sort of like having a choice of all the jelly beans in the jar when before you could...

    Project Victory_Overland 08 LR3 Build Thread!

Other than the 'That really looks cool' factor what is the take away? Why not just get a second hand hood and paint it? Seriously, I am putting exorbitant amounts of money in this LR3 of mine and want to know. Does it shed water or just gather it?

    Carrying extra fuel

My thanks to all that responded...especially those that are concerned with safety...mine and others that may be near me. I found a short fat one on Amazon that has the valve in the vertical position so no more issues with that. Free shipping as well. I now have horizontal brackets for sale for...

    Carrying extra fuel

Thanks for the tip. Perhaps I can use the brackets for something else. Actually it is a 10 lb cylinder, but never mind that. Apparently it is not a good idea, sooooooo. If the relief valve is pointing up (12 o'clock) position it would (be safer) and would work?

    10' x 10' Free-Standing Canopy : 18" Round Stakes or Weighted Bags to secure?

12 or 18 inch rebar with a washer over the end and welded to that end to keep the leg from creeping up. the really big nails from HD are great. I weld a washer on one side to create a hole for guy rope, serves double duty...paint them day-glo orange, make guy ropes out of light color material or...

    Carrying extra fuel

I use NATO cans exclusively. Used to carry 4 inside with the Pinzgauer and one in the stock under the body location. Now I have an LR3 and carry 4 up top on the roof rack for long trips and 2 5 gal Septer cans of water. Even in CA I never used the CARB cans ... they leak no matter where they...

    LR3 Tire Decision Time

My LR3 sits on 255/55 Duratrak 19's so I guess my thoughts are not going to do you much good. Full size spare and additional spare on a Tactical 4X swing away tire carrier. I like these tires.

    Hummelator Off-road teardrop build

Yours is going to be a real good work. Looking forward to the photos. Saw a teardrop trailer by a company called Thor. it was a stand-up inside with full kitchen and very well appointed. Not much bigger than conventional ones that have you cooking outside. Can't seem to find one like it though.

Camp chair for packing into a suitcase?

I didn't read any farther than the first page. Save trouble and get a cheap chair at a local store and leave it there when you depart. Wouldn't say that for sleeping bags but a chair for the week...it's time to be practical.

    table and chair storage

Tables, chairs, OZ tent, along with extra water and petrol go on top of the Front Runner rack. Only soft stuff goes inside like sleeping bags and pads but those are lashed as well. don't want anything sliding around. Clothes and food that does not need refrigeration go in the boxes on each side...

Question/advice needed from Land Rover guys!

Definitely get the records and if done at a dealer, talk to them about the vehicle. I bought an 07 LR3 that had unknown overheating issues not mentioned by PO and it cost me $7K to have the heads machined. It is good now but that info would have been take into account before buying. Take...
