Soooo....I got stuck! Any recovery advice?

Love it when a link is posted and it takes you to something like appliances. Not much help there.

Questions about national luna dual battery install for lr3

I picked NL because they give you a tremendous length of cable. Not precut and nothing on the ends so I can do my own. If precut doesn't work with your routing you are screwed and have to buy more cable anyway. Easy to mount the solenoid. Just forward of the secondary battery, bolted or screwed...

    maintenance and service book?

Is there available, for the LR3, a maintenance book similar to the Chilton books? I have not been able to find anything except leads to the owners manual and that is not going to tell me what I need to know about servicing and disassembly of various parts of the vehicle.

    Roof Rack Fun

I agree with you, especially about the idea of a complete product. It did gaul me that I needed to provide something that was possibly known, by the mfgr., to be an issue. I have several friends that have a FR rack and we all have a noise issue above 35 mph. FR does not provide a clear answer to...

    Roof Rack Fun

Did not say it was an upgrade, just how I solved my problem. You don't have to like it, it may not be for you, everyone has their own preference. Lots of critics out there. Surest way to find them is to present an idea.

    Roof Rack Fun

There are aa few LR owners in my off road group and they might be interested in the design.. I won't sell it to them but I will give them the pattern and if they wish to make their own, I will be glad to be a consultant. I have made several things in my years of ownership of off road vehicles...

    Roof Rack Fun

'Marginal' ... perhaps, but it works. Why are you being so insulting when you don't even have this type of rack? I am simply answering a question by another site member.

    Roof Rack Fun

I am sure there are a lot of roof racks with air foils. I am addressing the Front Runner roof rack only and my personal solution to the noise noticed by owners of that particular rack. The Baja roof rack also has an air foil but, (I did not buy that one) like the ProSpeed it also has very big...

    Roof Rack Fun

C I figured it out!!! Very long way around though. Same gage as FR metal. Traced the curve of the roof and at first mounted lower but it bounced a bit. Reconfigured top bracket to raise it a little. Used same type and size nuts and bolts as stock FR parts secured from local metric supplier...

    Roof Rack Fun

Not to end the bitching about errant shops but I did fix the whistling noise on my FR roof rack by fabricating a wild deflector. No noise even at above 70 MPH. It was sort of design build and went through a few mods to get the supports the correct length and keep the angle close to the angle of...

    Roof Rack Fun

Maybe the LR dealer would have been the way to go. The part that bothers me is that the shop you took it to did not bother to tell you that they had done this minor repair. I have had shops do things like that and there is virtually no recourse left but to not go back to them. I just installed a...

    Removing items from 2007 LR3

I am in process of replacing the front bumper of my LR3 with an ARB bumper. I have also installed sliders from Rovers North. Both stock plastic lower plastic pans are in good shape and the bumper has not been damaged. Is there anyone out there that may have need of these three items? Local pick...

    NorthWest MogFest

Used to go when I had a Pinzgauer and lived in WA. Very friendly place, leave your dog at home. It's in the rules. I am in CO and I didn't go as the pinz is really not a good vehicle for a 1600 mile trip. Now that I have an LR the trip might just be a fun jaunt, and it would be good to see...

LR3/4 second battery (deep cycle) option

Just purchased an LR3, 2007. Have been reviewing the posts on aux battery install. Not sure of the battery choice yet, have been running 2 Optima (24V) on my Pinzgauer and have had very good service from them. Apparently some people have not had such luck with them. I see no pics of the...

    Discovery 3 (LR3) and Discovery 4 (LR4) Registry

New to me LR3 Just purchased a dark grey 2007 LR3. Soon to add to it with proper mods, roof rack, new tires (not sure what ones yet) ARB bumper with winch, LR snorkel and other things as my now whirling mind thinks them up. It needs a few things to make it truly operational...compressor, get...

    Two Latvians overlanding south

Thanks for sharing your adventures through pictures. Maybe you can catch the mouse with ice cream and cookies. i came back from an adventure in the woods and had a mouse in my Pinzgauer for weeks. Nibbling on a forgotten cookie left under the front seat. Finally left, to who knows where. Happy...

Micro adventures of the NW rockies

Really enjoying sharing the adventure. Not to worry about pics with the truck, it gives scale. I think almost everyone takes shots of their vehicle too. The feet were a nice distraction. Great to be traveling with your friends that don't complain and ask 'are we there yet?'

    Optima batteries.

I've had Optimas in my Pinzgauer for years. Did have an issue with some I bought once off a pallet at a used car place, thought to same some money. They lasted 3 years. My system is 24V and if I let it sit for long periods the gas in the carb bowls evaporates and the fuel pump needs to run...
