I wasn't sure where to put this, sort of "Hardware" but I figure its more of a Camping essential. I tried searching for a review thread but couldn't find any dedicated to compasses.
So after 30 years my Silva Ranger has a bubble in it. I have used this thing everywhere and love its simplicity...
Love your descriptions....the Grand Canyon is right up therr with the most humbling experiences I have ever had. I have not seen it from the north side yet and can only imagine experiencing it as you did. That is awesome. I also love NM....it seems often overlooked between the beauty that is CO...
Great job! I really like this.
In this pic:
The "end piece" looks also to be C Channel. Is that a different size? I understood the comment about having it longer to cover the bearing.
I could not see the pic for the "stops"....would love to see those if that can be re-linked.
How is the...
bah-dum-dum! Touche! :)
Totally agree with this^^^ I can cut a log with a chain saw or a bow saw. Using one or owning one doesn't mean the other is useless or not of value. It all depends on the time and place, the budget, etc etc. Hopefully the info is helpful in many ways. And as Hilldweller...
I think the fridge v. Cooler discussion is a recognition that some folks like chocolate ice cream and some like strawberry. "Overlanding" can be done with a Landy that looks like its on the Camel Trophy run and some can be done throwing sleeping bags and a cooler in the back of a dd pickup. I...
Thanks 4x4junkie...here's where I got it but I really appreciate you correcting it! I was trying to be accurate in my assessment. As I said in the OP I have none of these and have no axe to grind on any either...
mlmeans if it helps I added to the thread I started on the "ACTUAL cooler sizes" in this section to include some of the better known Fridge/Freezers. The ARB and Engel's are all pretty accurate in terms of advertised sizes versus actual. Edgestar has one that's way off. But if it helps you might...
agree refried.....you still want it to have the capacity you need too! :ylsmoke:
FWIW I looked at Fridges wondering if the same discrepancies existed on advertised size versus actual interior volumes. They are all much much closer in sizes than the coolers, with the exception of Edgestar (see...
Thanks perterra.
Ha screwball! My bad... we're s'posed to take marketing's word for it I know. Ha. My wife has a comment about stuff like that but I won't repeat it here. ;) LOL
So this may be just total overkill of analysis I don't know. But hopefully it helps someone. And note that I have no axe here for or against any of these manufacturers. I don't own any of them. I have cheapo Coleman and Igloos. Yes I am considering a high end cooler and believe the quality is...
Why not original KC Dayliters? Reasonable for the light they put out and tried and tested. Yeah they draw more power than LED's but the light color is better than a lot of LED's too. Just my $0.02
I use 100% DEET in Maine for the blackflies which as Haven said can be nasty. I also fly fish so need to keep my fingers clear of it. I find it works fine if I put some on the back of my left hand and smear it on my face and neck etc. that way. Never tried the bands, but would be willing to.
I really like how you approach things. I am guessing as your pic with all the parts has a pump handle you will have the ability to fill other things from a tank/tanks? I have wondered about doing that instead of having a simple reserve that only fuels my vehicle. Is that where you're going?
I saw a Verizon service truck the other day and had that thought. It was a dually so depending on what you want to build you might have to chop some out of the middle. But part of the appeal was that the top of the service body was not that high and would give you some flexibility for pop-up...
I like all the different types shown here thanks evrryone. Question about the "lounger" type chairs....can they lock in a somewhat upright position? Mine need to do double duty for lounging by the fire but also to eat with, plate on the lap style. And I worry the lounger would make that...
