i learned my lesson... i opted to wait to by a 2U IGT frame in early 2020 before Covid happened not knowing that it was being discontinued and sell out and now im making up for it lol.
an outdoor shop like an hour drive from me had about 10 of the 2U IGT's and put them on sale and i figured i...
Narrator - he did in fact... get one of each size
didn't want to afford this right now but ya gotta get while the gettin is good with this kind of thing ?♂️
all black everything coffee table plan is gonna come to life!
not sure where you live... but you could always find a big fat oak or pine log too. Birch doesn't get to fat unless you have old growth forests around... birch does look cool though with the bark still on. oak and pine would look good if you removed the bark i think
not too strong but you can smell it if you are sitting next to it in the house. i probably wouldn't notice it outside
id be surprised if it was just mine that had the smell as its not uncommon for new items to have a smell of some kind. its more likely because I'm sensitive to smells that i...
does your mytable have a strange burnt metal smell to it? just got mine today and it seems like it has a coating of some kind on it and it didn't really wash off with my normal kitchen cleaner
maybe stuck it in a hole drilled in a log?
also my stuff got shipped and it will be a race!
MyTable shipped yesterday via Fedex
couple other small items shipped today via USPS
I assume mine will come from Portland since it would be weird if they got new stock in at the NY location first unless the shipment came in on the east coast instead of the west coast. that being said... FedEx is horrible. even stuff from Portland takes 7-10 days to get to me in Utah. on average...
I just ordered a stainless My Table today actually ?
they have been out of stock for a bit but they just got some in today.
got me an extra 1U tray laying around already.... to stick underneath for the bottom shelf!
looks liek REI has the regular bamboo My Table as well if that helps you get...
boiled some water in the caldero on the baja burner and it did a good job of spreading the heat out on the bottom. the bottom part of the cast is thicker than the sides so it didn't have the normal flame ring shape of boiling like on the bottom of thinner pots. its a bit bigger than i wanted as...
the large takibi is def the one to go with IMO if you want best bang for the buck. it has the most accessories, and the 1U / Half grill accessories fit the takibi solo if you want a little guy in your stash of gear. the large is just big enough to fit a normal log if you buy a bundle from a...
Anyone use the caldero? just picked one up and have not been able to use it yet.
its cast aluminum that they machined the surfaces of it.
I kind of want to machine it further and then maybe find a place to stick it in a tumbler to polish the grooves it has as it might end up being horrible to...
i think the supply chain from asia to the US is just a huge mess right now and making the standard Snowpeak stocking speed be 8 times slower.
also i think the flat burner is supposed to have a stainless reflector bowl around the burner head instead of an enameled one now so i bet we are...
i have been thinking about taping it off and trying to do a cold spray fake powder coat... but honestly nothing i can do will match just doing a powder coat on a frame
just got my second stainless basket in today so I can do a test set up of my 4U coffee table for my house. I never had a coffee table before and don't see any reason why it can't be capable of going camping either :ROFLMAO:
im planning on storing tea, hot chocolate, some instant soup broths...
welp...my wallet hates me now i bet lol
just ordered a takibi solo...even though i kind of was not interested in it at all.
but i like the idea of using my half grill net on it and being able to use it without bringing the big takibi when im camping and have tons of other stuff in the vehicle...
have fun! i guess not enough spots opened up for waitlisters like me to snag. apparently next year i need to sign up within an hour of getting the email or i don't get to go lol
say whaaaaa? A broker?
what kind of broker is this? ill think about it but that sounds a bit cumbersome to buy a single item for less than buying one listed online through an overseas web shop
im familiar with using a broker to ship an entire cargo container, but even then I just buy the stuff...
they did sell the 2U frame here. the last time i saw one for sale in the US was around late 2018 or early 2019 right before i bought my 3U as I couldn't get a 2U anymore.
if you can link me to a 2U for sale from Japan... ill buy it for $400 or less right now lol I keep seeing them for like $600...
