I'd love to take the Vehicle-Dependent Expedition Guide, 2nd Edition 2.1 off your hands. I haven't nailed down schedule details just yet but plan to roll in early afternoon on 10/6 and will be camping onsite through Sunday. Perhaps sometime Thursday evening once all set up? Hard to miss too...
I'm honestly not even sure? It's an older singer unit i think, 60's I'd say, that was made in Japan. It's not really heavy duty but it worked a treat on the sunshade stuff, even where I folded the top hem over the side hem and was going through 6 layers. The sunshade stuff is pretty open...
Absolutely!
I'm using 5050SMD led strips purchased from another forum here that I've purchased to install in the topper of my Tacoma along with both ARB awnings. He sells a variety of kits, colors and options but I purchase the raw materials and assemble myself as I get a little better deal...
Well I channeled my inner Suzy Homemaker and whipped up this privacy/rain/sun shade last weekend - super pleased with the results!
The plastic screen fabric was sourced from here, the black edge clips here and the ball bungees from here.
The fabric height was pretty close to what I needed but...
I dig the direction you're headed there, the flip top will give you a great elevated bunk and give headroom to do the necessities inside. Have you considered also being able to access the rear galley and compartment area from the inside? It could be nice to grab a cold drink from a...
Thanks, it's been a long time in the making and I was able to get a lot of ideas from other builds on here. The skills part wasn't the hard part really, it was a matter of having a plan going in and then committing to keep it moving forward and the rest really came together from there. I know...
Yep, when I crank up the trailer at camp the trailer side of the awning is between 6'-6” and 6'-10” depending on how high I raise the trailer. For rainy weather I set the outer legs low, around 5' I guess to keep the rain shed and cut down on what blows in. In nice weather for...
Thanks, I'm thinking it will work well once I finalize the mounting method. The sewing will be good practice anyway as I'd still like to replace the sleeping setup I have with some nicely covered cushions that can double purpose as bed and as seat cushions and backrests when lounging on rainy days.
Not in the trailer the way I setup the rear compartments but I prefer to keep the fridge in the tow rig anyway. Keeping it with me brings cold snacks and drinks on day trips and haves them waiting at trailheads.
Thanks Pat, I was debating getting one of their rooms (not the screen thing) but they evidently have a full fabric roof of sorts that would then block the lights I put in. I'm thinking I'll DIY something together, at least a shade or windbreak for the outer wall using some tan sunshade fabric I...
ARB Awning!
Spring update - I got a great deal on an 8' ARB awning from Sierra Expeditions and got it mounted up on the camper!
I decided I wanted to fab up and exo-cage type mount rather than punching any holes in the body. I also wanted to keep the awning tucked close to the body and...
Hey man, check your email - I sent something over earlier this week about the hitch and sensors.
By the way, nice choice on the ARB, bring back anything else from MLO other than the bed and bumper?
