Thanks! I really need to update that, but kind of switched over to doing it on IG. Yep, same here. Selling that spot in line was so worth it. No regrets.
Thanks! So, I have a lot of details on the drawer module & utility module (and the base plate for that matter) at the link below
https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wackyhackys-2013-tacomarado-build.626371/page-8
My base plate is 1/2" birch plywood, coated with a heavy duty bed liner. I...
Thank you! I love seeing every custom build as well. So many ways to go with this camper design & make it your own.
That's been my experience so far as well. We have had some damp 40s on that recent trip back east and a couple nights in mid to high 30s here in CO and never had an issue...
So, it's funny this is a current topic of discussion on here, b/c I actually was searching on the topic of insulation, ideas etc. and frankly whether doing so is even worth it at all if you don't plan on living out of it or camping during the coldest months of the year. I watched those...
I definitely have to agree what you are both saying in regard to the 80/20. I am always trying to encourage people to do their own build. It's so easy to work with once you start playing with it and you don't need a ton of tools either. Being able to build it out exactly how you want is not...
Huh, I would like to think so, but I have got some marks on the one side of my tent but maybe they are from being pinched in the shocks too. I do appreciate that inside. With bedding & our exped mattress up there, we always have to tuck on both sides before shutting the lid.
This made me think of another frustration I have which is the black plastic caps used on the bolt heads. I am just not sure there is a good solution. Specifically the ones up under the lip of the roof. I lose 1 or 2 every time I open or shut the camper, but I do think they are necessary, but...
Yeah, I saw one of these recently & will definitely be moving to one eventually. It's not a ridiculous price for what it is. It also eliminates one more thing protruding from the camper causing clearance issues, etc. Real nice idea.
New In Box (box opened); w/ all required adhesive velcro needed for install. Alu-cab PN CC-A-MN-SK - $140 + shipping (if required)
Located in Northern CO.
Actually I would like to know a little more about those bumper modifications when you get a moment if you don't mind. I know you're a busy man.
I am not a welder/fabricator, but could you tell me a little more about the corner reinforcements you made/why you made them? Was that to handle...
Yeah, I would imagine that's it. I don't think the 3rd Gen bed is really all the different than the 2nd, but I know I removed the rails entirely when I sealed my bed tops b/c I was seeing similar dust come from under them. Sorry, it's been a year or two
since I did that.
Does anyone with a Tacoma & ACCC run a swing out style rear bumper? Dual or Single swing out, std or high clearance. I am looking for options in that department and finding that most have uprights that will not work without modification due to the protrusion of rear door handle on our campers...
I mean, with the custom touches on this rig, I am sure it will go fast. Truly one of a kind.
@Expedition Essentials would you please be willing to share some detail on your modified CBI bumper you did on this truck when you have moment? I just noticed this & I have been struggling to find a...
Yeah, I would be willing to bet that is what was discussed, b/c I have seen Keder Rail also referred to as Sail Track and unfortunately, that is a completely different shape. I am pretty sure this stuff is only made for AC, but I never thought to inquire about purchasing any through them.
Yeah, I would imagine that is the only place to get it, though I think your temp solution is quite good! I have searched far & wide for that C shaped extrusion b/c it gave me some ideas for other things I could build for the camper using it to no avail. Therefore I think AC makes it or has it...
Well, I think the question of usefulness (driver versus passenger) is really a matter of personal preference & the way you tend to use your rig. It can be done though, even though the AC dealers don't generally offer it as an option. It's really just b/c they have decided on one mfg set up in...
Thanks for posting this. I am in the mkt for something as well, so I will check this out. Have you used it much on uneven ground yet? I had a platform style step I had been using (cheapo Harbor Freight) and it was solid for awhile, but it creaks like hell & it flipped out from under me bad on...
