I have the Hemi and not the diesel. I checked the frame 6 months or so ago and saw no evidence of any issues. When the flat bed was installed, they commented that flatbed installs on the diesel trucks always carried more risk. I assumed either the frames are different or the extra weight of the...
I have a 2015 Ram 3500 with an Alumline aluminum flatbed that supports a 2000 pd Bundutec Odyssey. 80,000 + miles, many of them offroad. The only suspension upgrades are upgraded shocks and springs in the front (Fox and Carli) and in the rear, leaf springs were rearched, added a leaf and...
i bought the F40C4TMP on Amazon for less than 200 bucks. It's behind the seat in my truck and is powered by either my Jackery 1000 or the truck itself. It has worked flawlessly for almost 10 months and maintains Temps with no issues.
I've had an aluminum flatbed for 5 years living in a state that loves to salt its roads. No issues so far.
Aluminum will be more expensive than steel but IMHO, well worth the cost and weight savings. Alumline built mine but there are many other options.
Sorry. Torklift fast guns are designed to secure campers to trucks. In the attached picture, you will see them running from the jack brackets to the flatbed itself.
There are other options. Mines attached to the flatbed with fast guns which are easy to attach. Lowering a heavy camper down on to bolts that are not always easily accessible seems like a crazy method.
Mines never moved in 80k miles despite many off road miles.
As a former WEMT, I think having an AED would still be helpful. CPR rarely works and AED's are everywhere in the front country and easy to use. At minimum, it could get a persons heart back beating and possibly allow time for survival until the advanced care folks arrive.
