    FG's in Action

Yes both diffs and transfer case were sitting on the ground. Certainly would not have driven in there if I didn't have another vehicle around. Anchor points for the winch are not around - reason to travel with at least two vehicle in areas like that. Dan.

    FG's in Action

Maybe we should say "In Inaction". A little stuck in a salt pan along the Madigan Line. The others in front of me drove round. It sure did look dry and all it took was a little pull only about a metre and it was out. I also didn't really try on my own as I woundn't have looked forward to a...

Yea - NO pics. You aren't here. Good to have you on board and we surely would like to see what you have. Welcome to the forum, Dan.

    objective tyre opinion

I run 315/75x16" and before turbo and regearing it had no trouble getting around at a little less revs than you. Will it be a bit different climbing hills - yes but actually it will be running closer in it's torque band which is at lower revs than 3100 Rpm instead of relying on the build up of...

    iPad mounts

Ram post. You can change height to what you want and bring it closer or further away. I use it to mount my Surface Pro3 but there are a lot of different holders to suit what ever you want. It is bolted to the floor and as you can see it has a stainless plate to help stabilize it that is bolted...

    Wheel arch flares

If you go to one of my first threads you will see that I fitted just normal available rubber flare material in 75mm width. This has also been fitted to Candy's Canter and I know Bris 31 did the same. At a lot less cost. Dan.

    FG fuel economy

Your Loss. I've never wrecked one and I give them a hiding and off kilter a lot and at total extreme weight but your choice. Dan.

Starting a home build FG and looking for lots of advice.

Wheels can still spin when fitted with a limited slip diff but that is certainly a lot of spin, must have had a front wheel spinning as well because otherwise you would think it would still have had forward motion. No front Locker/Atb centre. Dan.

    2001 Mitsubishi FG637

Clearance issues with Dual Cabs are worse as with a single cab we can route some of our pipe work to the rear of the engine. Not as much room back there on a dual cab. Can't help you with a source in Victoria but I would talk to "Alan" on site here or at Outback Accessories in Seaford. Dan.

    2001 Mitsubishi FG637

Yes they are hard to source (Michelin xzl 255/100r16 tyres). Now you need to know the width of the rims. If they are 8" or wider then there are a lot of different tyres that will fit. I run 315/75x16" ,only in the 35" range. Some 325/85x16s may be able to go on 8" rims that you would need to...

    2001 Mitsubishi FG637

Sorry but you can't have 16.5" rims and be running 16" tyres as they wouldn't be sitting on the beads. Those tyres should run real well at low pressure as that was the tyre of choice for years doing beach work. You could go 17" rims by Goanna Tracks and run their Trailmaster 37" Tyre but these...

Transmission output seal leak on 2007 FG?

Transfer case can't pressurize unless the breather is blocked. The breather for the gearbox and transfer case are joined together on top of the gearbox (T-piece) and runs up to the rear of the engine near the fuel filter (on 2000 model). Believe the same on later models. Yes the seal can leak...

ImpromptU-Ah! Back to Utah We Go!

Man you need to stay home, all this driving around must be making you tired. ---- Another great write up. It sounds like you have a good crowd over there to help you out when problems like this arise. Good on them and I would say that they want you to keep going so that they can also follow...

    Upgraded exhaust

My idea is if you are going to a 3" exhaust why would you leave a restriction in the system (original exhaust brake). It will certainly help the turbo by opening it up to 3" - faster spool up. By how much only you will know after it is done. Dyno before and after would be good but that also...

    Cab clearances on fg 637

Yes there are a few places that do rub as in at the corners of the radiator but at this stage are not a real problem. Where it made contact with my after market turbo we modded the cab a little. Yes we get a lot of movement of the cab when we are traveling offroad but if you stiffen it up too...

No front drive in 4x4. Fg639:(

It's good that you got it out of the mud. If you go in through the side plate, you see the main linkage that feeds forward to the 4WD engagement area and the high/low slider gear. Dan.
