When I had the rack built, SMP took the tentcot and fabricated mounts that attach in place of the legs. Posts 43 and 77 have pics showing how it attaches, but if you'd like additional pics or info, let me know.

I have the GenRight auxilliary fuel tank in that location. Carrying 20 gallons of fuel is noticeable, manageable but noticeble, when in motion. To unload the weight as soon as possible, I run that tank dry before switching to the primary tank. I'm not sure that carrying water in that location...

Would a rear awning work in the same manner?

I like it, though there will be a problem if bad weather hits - it's too small to use as shelter for a long day in the rain. Fortunately, there's not much chance of that in SoCal, and I can bring a small ground tent if needed. As for traveling with it, see pics in post #8; I leave it collapsed...

About 12-13, up to 14 on long road trips. With 4.10s, I was getting about 15.5 when it was stock. Fortunately, it's not my daily driver.

If you check out post 43 in my build thread (http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/72945-Expo-Daily-driver-JK-build-(Pic-heavy)/page2?highlight=ventura911), you can see how mine works. It allows me to use the tent cot on the ground, as well, by just reattaching the legs.

Thanks, Craig. I would've taken a serious look at the AEV suspensions, too, but at the time, They hadn't come out yet. I don't think you can go wrong with either set up.
