Gutter Solar lights as rack mounted lamps?

They might work around camp, but I can't imagine them being left on during driving. They look like limb grabbers, and most things designed for static usage around a house will quickly fail when subjected to vibrations, bumps and knocks they will encounter off road.

    ARB Simpson III

I would second Slee, they are amazing with customer service and they can get most anything you want. 4 wheel parts is also local and can have things shipped to the store.

Land Cruiser 100 series - long range fuel tank

I've looked into spare tire type fuel tanks, they're gaining traction and make a lot of sense if you run a spare on a tire carrier.

@LandCruiserPhil Did you glue it down some how? Care to share how you mounted it?

Show off your EXPO SOLAR POWER, panels, mounting solution, installs PIC THREAD

@eatSleepWoof Do you get any charge while the panel is under the rack? I assume even a little shade on the panel dramatically reduces the output of the panel? I love the drawer slide idea, I would likely just use Teflon tape for the slides in this application. I was thinking of draw latches...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

I keep a clean workstation when I get going! Here is my current idea for mounting the sunroof panel. I will create something similar to the tab shown in the picture but I will attach the bottom gusset to the sunroof opening and another matching tab to the bent tube and toss a captured...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

I had a beautiful day here in Colorado and a hall pass to crank on my roof rack. I got to really work on my own today as I am wrapping up my friends. I started off by getting all my pieces fitted up and tacked. With my floor design I decided to box in the mounting plates with additional tubes...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

So I have been on a wheel and tire adventure lately. I have been wheeling and dealing. I sold the black Tundra wheels with the Toyo Open Country MT's on them. They were just too heavy for the size and they were loud on the highway. They drove nice enough, looked good and balanced well. Anyhow I...

Using a Tarp instead of an Awning

I am a big fan on Tarps, my two current favorite being the Kelty Noah's Tarp 12 and the Kelty Carport. Both are are awesome and very versatile. However, I just splurged on an ARB awning, the quick setup factor put me over the top. Sure I can make a tarp work, but the quick setup of the ARB and...

    Camp Towel Recomendations

I scored a bunch of the Packtowl's when a local sporting goods store was shutting down. I don't think I would have splurged at the regular price but if any get destroyed or lost from now on, I'll gladly pony up the coin. Small, compact, great TOWELS, easy to clean, fast drying, store nearly...

Show off your EXPO SOLAR POWER, panels, mounting solution, installs PIC THREAD

I'm SO close to installing a dedicated hard mounted (or portable if convinced) solar array on top of my Land Cruiser. I have read a TON and I understand the systems, advantage, disadvantages of mono vs poly, charge controllers, hard, flexible, and rollable panels... That isn't what this thread...

Semi permanent flexible solar panel roof install

I agree and with some moderate heat it removes slowly without residue, its not something I'd like to do a lot but it will come off if handled correctly. Fwiw, I use the VHB on all kinds of applications on my Land Cruiser inside and out. That said, I'd suggest a nice 2" industrial velcro and...

    High Lift Mounting Suggestion

If mounted correctly, with appropriate hardware and backing you should have no worries of pulling through the metal. I would try to see if you can incorporate the surface mount brackets from Hi-Lift. FWIW, I would nab a 60" if it fits. That last foot makes a huge difference when you actually...
