    Xterra Gas milage

That is almost unbelieveable:Wow1: , we bought an 01 new that now has 190K. The best we've ever got was 18-19. The poor mileage is justified in my mind b/c the only mechanical failure ever has been the fuel pump.:) edit: please don't discuss miles per tank, it makes me want to kill people...

Time to get a real tent.

What is your budget? I have big (10x10)coleman dome and a smaller Mountain hardware, 3 man, 3 season. If the weather will be bad, I take the MH. For warm, summer camping, I like the roomy Coleman. The MH was ~$350, the coleman ~$100.

Should I swap my 1997 TJ for a 1994 YJ?

I'd have to agree, I'd really like a solid, reliable, skid plated TJ on 31s Are you saying the sticker on my front fender means I'm gay... that explains a lot:)

Should I swap my 1997 TJ for a 1994 YJ?

If you are going for looks, you gotta trade for the yj. TJs have that doe-eyed, cutesy look. The yj is strictly built for business and that business is kicking ******.:) Round headlights are for metrosexuals anyhow:shakin: We've had gun control, manual vs. auto trannies and now TJ vs.YJ...

    retire the rope???

Slightly off topic and I'm not trying to be antagonistic but have you guys ever seen a rope fail? I'm really only familiar with static rope used for caving/rapalling. The ropes I've used are routinely wet and muddy, then that mud is ground into the cover with rapall devices and toothed...

    Starting a Ujointclothing 4x4 conversion

I am eager to see your build, I've used ford f250 shock mounts on several jeeps. They are cheap and very heavy duty. I just weld them onto the frame. This is the part #E5TZ-18183-A. HTH photo coutesy of classic broncos

    Tacoma rear bumper fabrication.

Why would you listen to your wife when you can get all the advice you need right here on this forum???:) I'm a fan of sch40 for skids, I don't have any proof but it seems to dent less than dom in my experience. I would incorporate a step into the wrap around too.

    Tacoma rear bumper fabrication.

If it's a typical trailor spindle, the bottom is ~4.125 to 4.250. Mine stuck thru the bottom side of the bumper just enough to get a nice bead on it. HTH edit: never mind, you asked for OD, I think I used a 1" holesaw for the bumper
