Our Northstar TS1000 slide in pop up is 7’ wide and does not extend beyond the sides of the utility body on our Fuso FG. 8.5’ is the maximum legal width in the USA
I would probably epoxy it and I'd coat all the pieces in epoxy as these pieces often get wet. It's common to run a piece of metal all the way across the inside of the back piece to bolt those brackets to. There's a lot of tension on them due to the torsion bars. I've got a thread on here...
What part of the roof are you replacing. Be careful if you are releasing the back corner lifting brackets, there is a torsion bar inside those tubes. What exactly is the problem with the roof?
Not a chance a unit like that will cool down a pop top camper in Nebraska in the summer. We have a small window unit bought at HD at end of season sale for $75 and installed in the front pass through window of our Northstar TS 1000. It will run off a Honda 2000. It is acceptable on a hot summer...
Look up Chinese Diesel Heaters--all in one. There are lots of them available like the Planar, but not in a plastic box, metal, for around $150. They are pretty efficient on both diesel and electric--maybe 3 amps or so once they start up and the glow plug isn't drawing.
A Fuso dealer mechanic from California posted on the Canter 4x4 Facebook page that he worked on a dual cab Earthcruiser which had an L6 v8 gasoline engine replaced due to oil pump failure. I was unaware that dual cab FG’s were available in the USA. Did Fuso start selling them in the last few years?
Wave 3 has limited output. I put verified numbers ina thread a few weeks ago. At 15 degrees f outside many people would still be cold inside if using a wave 3.
