Any 1500 suburbans 2000 to 2006 body styels out there?

I'd suggest you build up what you have. a 1/2 will easily haul your family and take enough stuff for all of you to go camping. It will also handle dirt roads and moderate trails very well. Since you are already a rock crawler I doubt you'll have any problem recognizing which trail to avoid...

    Why not a Hummer?

Wow! That's a heckuva set up. I've never owned, driven or rode in an Real Hummer but I sat in one. Does that make me an internet expert? I noticed the seats were pretty narrow and the vehicle is pretty wide. A Hummer like any rig either works for you or it doesn't. Life is too short to drive...

    Suburban shopping

We've been looking at Suburbans lately. Lots of years, styles and power trains to sort through. We need it to tow the trailer and be a stand alone camping vehicle so we're tied to getting a big block. And of course it will be 4WD. We've been drawn to the 2001/2/3 DOB burbons with an 8.1. They...

Opinions on Advanced 4wheel drive systems?

Spotted a 1993 Ford van with a 7.3 in it. The conversion was done by Advanced 4wheel drive in Utah. Does this company's conversions work well and are they reliable?

    Let's talk tires!

Tire time is coming up and tapping the collectives knowledge first has no downside. Stock 95 yj and the driving conditions will be some pavement and a lot of Mojave desert terrain. Which is mostly hardpack, sand and rocks. Usage will be dirt roads of all qualities, dry washes and rough trails...

    Upgrading the jeeps rear dif

Thanks for the further thoughts. I have anchor stakes that I kept when I sold my duece for hooking the winch too. I have played many rounds of "Let's get unstuck" in my younger years but now I'd rather avoid the fun of digging and winching if possible. :sombrero: It seems the rear locker...

Hi Brian, Let me lay out the scenario for you and the others as I think it will help everyone in helping me. 1, Mojave desert on a dirt trail. Like most of the desert it's hardpack with soft underneath. 2&3, The details in this case was a steep downhill that crossed a one foot across and one...
