My plan would be jacks in the drawer if they fit and wood blocks or plywood crosses uncrossed stored as well. Honestly, for a long term expedition platform the Taco Ute setup with the ability to base camp (off truck use of camper) is critical to the justification of a truck camper vs. other...
Awesome. Cant wait to see pics. Also, do you have CAD drawings or photos of the fixed roof version? I am trying to invision what the interior changes would be compared to the popup version (e.g. more cabinets? Roof to ceiling toilet walls?).
I know seems like a ton to me too, but some people seem to love em. For that price I would setup a built Taco with a 4 wheel camper on the back. Brand new and better off road. Also could leave the camper as a base camp, but I guess if you wanted an SMB this is cheaper.
Awesome. Looks great and I really like the layout. Especially the dinette seating with I am assuming a window at the rear? However, just wondering... the grate for the shower... any reason not to put it in the entry door space instead of the dinette? Also, can it be used off the truck (maybe...
I wonder how much a single cab LHD version would cost... $250K?
DzlToy I happen to agree with you on the soft top pop up. For something in this price range I would prefer either a fixed top or a hard sided pop up. Better weather protection and in bear country it would be nice not to be...
Timmy,
Pretty inspiring blog. Too bad your purchase wasn't as great as you originally thought, but it looks like you have a great attitude and sense of humor (love the bumper sticker and license plate). Most importantly you are out there doing what you want and seem to be having a great time...
It does look pretty cool but too bad it is only 2WD and an auto. However it would have been really cool to see it painted similar to the Jeep forward control concept... add an alaskan and be good to go.
I think it's cool too... Buy it and put a small classic airstream or am avion truck camper would look great. However would need to repaint it and the price is way too high. Also it's an auto.
Wow. I remember reading your build post. Awesome
Quick question for you. You say the camper is removable. Is it possible/feasible to remove it from the flat bed with jacks and leave it in camp like a base camp?

Not sure if this has been posted already, but I found it in one of the comments on the link previously posted. Great photos of an amazing truck. I wish that Earthroamer actually created this instead of the existing design. So awesome.

Gosh dormobiles are so immensely awesome; cant keep my eyes from viewing on the detailed photos. Wish I were in the market for one. Good luck with sale!
I was wondering if its possible to modify the driver side interior to have the sink plumbed at usual counter height to the left of the door, but in place of the fridge and stove have a shelf for a Kanz field kitchen (or similar chuck box with stove) with propane stove (connected to on board...
I read that the XP Camper comes with a leg/cradle for removing from the flat bed and rolling it into storage in a garage. However, I was wondering if its possible to attach legs and remove the camper so it can be used as a base camp allowing the truck to be used for exploring without the...
I agree with Vegas and the red jeep. I always liked that red jeep but thought it was too small, however... now with a Brute Doka you could have the rear seats available for storage.... I think it would be awesome to have an AEV Brute Doka in silver (Billett silver or the new army green) with a...
