    Project Victory_Overland 08 LR3 Build Thread!

No issues with questions and answers back and forth on anything in my thread. The point of this is to help everyone out with the Triumphs and tribulations of our modifications as our vehicles progress to whatever level we are attempting to achieve. I welcome the constructive convo back and forth...

    KGH's Defender

Wow, what a beautiful rig! By any chance can you inform us on what you might be paying per day for something like that? Or at least post the company for hire? Cheers, E

I can't compare the Cooper to my Terra grapplers but I used a decibel meter from the factory Perrelli to Nitto and there was almost no change. I have zero tire noise as far as I'm concerned. Just not a great tire for punctures on rooted or sharp rock areas as I believe the sidewall is too soft...

    Project Victory_Overland 08 LR3 Build Thread!

So I am getting a pretty nasty whine from under the hood and the Low Power Mode is coming on the stereo. My best guess until I get the GAP Tool on it tonight is most likely the alternator is about to depart the building. Anyone have recommendations on what is a good upgrade for the LR3...

LR4 Battery Charging Profile... Measured with IID... really this bad?

Buy two, keep one in the small parts box with your spare LR genuine bulbs. Also, the brake switch is the same as a Ford Focus so ask your local ford dealer and I'm sure they have it and much cheaper. Says FOMOCO on it. PN SW-6572

Land Rover Discovery 5 (LR5?) in the wild

I owned a brand new Explorer sport in 2014. Beautiful looking rig and great driving CAR. Yes, CAR because it sucks off-road unless it's a dirt road with no terrain deviation. It's low, no ground clearance but has the performance of a RRS in sport mode. Matter of fact, I bought it when I found...

Land Rover Discovery 5 (LR5?) in the wild

I actually don't know what LR is thinking not having an affordable, work-mans replacement of the Defender. They priced themselves out of the Defender and technology drove themselves out of the military market without a replacement. It doesn't take a rocket scientist and $60k price tag to make...

    Misfire codes 2006 LR3 4.4

When I started my truck after an accident I had every code known to man. I had some misfire codes like you, I swapped around the coils to see if it followed and it seemed intermitent at best. I disconnected all connectors, cleaned them, dielectric greased all, reinstalled and went through the...

Who makes that roof rack? Very modern approach, looks great? Does it have rails and other attachments for side mounting? Mahaloz, E

Much rather have a pokey garage than my carport. And the alternative is pokey garage without a beatiful D90 so I think you are good. Haha Love that rig.

Side X Side Comparison of Cooper STT Pro and BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 I believe these are my two favorite choices. As stated the goal is to have high quality proven MT tire that will not let me down. I believe BFG has a reputation that stands tall amongst anything ever built for the years and...

LR3 owners sound off, which tires?

Correction to my orginal post tire size as those LT255/75R17 are only C rated which are not going to work. I am looking at the LT265/70R17 which gets me an E rating where I need to be at. I am keeping my 18" factory 10 spokes and when the Nitto Terra Grapplers run out, I am replacing them with...

    Project Victory_Overland 08 LR3 Build Thread!

My goal is to stay as close to factory width as possible. I have a spacer set up now but would prefer to ditch that if I can when I go to the 17" wheel set up. This is the comparison with the 265/70R17 configuration. Although Cooper states this size tire is 10.8" wide so I would be getting...

Ahhhhh, yes you are correct. I'm going to see if I can find an E rate in that size. I actually plugged it in off a Jeep since I knew the size and maybe that is why it came up. Are you saying they only make "C" rate in the 255/75R17? If so, that's gonna have me moving onto a different tire I...

Tire Choice So Alan is working my 17" wheel purchase from the great land overseas. Meanwhile, I am in the process of shopping for my TDV6 brake parts..........(Lucky8, please answer emails).....: coffee: On a side note, I am looking at the Cooper STT Pro LT255/75/R17 for my tire choice. I...

COOPER DISCOVERER STT PRO™ LT255/75R17 This is what is going on my rig when my 17" wheel conversion is done. Sticking with skinny pizza cutters and taller side wall. I get fat when I air down! :smiley_drive::REExeSquatsHL1: COOPER DISCOVERER STT PRO™ LT265/70R17

The hunt for an Overland build.

Thats really a great site for basic know-how on what to look for. Question, I see Defenders up north in Canada, NAS versions. Same rules apply correct for any import? 25 years or older and matching numbers and you can essentially bring it down through customs and drive away once approved? I...

    Land Rovers in Switzerland (CH)

I use google translate and a few other apps and it helps me navigate some sites. I think there is a new program extension for Mac that will automatically convert your webpages to language of choice as well. When speaking with Peter from Discovery-Parts.de, i used it on my iPad for our email...
