    Water pump

Yes, I have the Delco unit in my rig. Replaced the OEM while I had the front end apart since I was 80k and it was super easy with the fan off. Delco unit is really nice in my opinion; 2-peice design impeller inlet with metal impeller, better bearings, and metal gasket. I have a comparison in...

    Project Victory_Overland 08 LR3 Build Thread!

When the design is done, I'm sure the finalized product will be available for reproduction. Josh is a good buddy of mine. Hot rodder, biker, and owns his own fab shop. He's swamped with company work and this is a side job he's working on with me to include some custom bike fab he does for me...

That's 40lbs "minimum" weight savings, most likely more in just bumper material. Just a guess right now but I'm thinking it will be more in the end. Add anywhere between 65-90lbs for average 9500lb winch weight (depending on steel cable or synthetic rope) and the weight continues to climb, all...

Give me the truth, are Land Rovers complete crap?

Like going to a Jeep forum and saying "Jeeps suck"! Like going to a Harley forum and saying "Harleys suck"! The topic/title of this thread kind of disgusts me! Are we being asked to justify the existence of the very love of our Green Oval vehicles that brings us to this site? I park my...

    Project Victory_Overland 08 LR3 Build Thread!

New Front Bumper Idea I think most know I have been toying with the idea of an aluminum bull bar front bumper for some time now. Over the last few weeks, the design is coming along and it looks like it's going to be a "GO" for a one off at a minimum on my rig. Who knows, if it works out, it...

Higher output alternators also charge at lower speeds, such as idle whereas our factory alternator does not. I won't get into all of that, but I think there is some benefit for higher charging rates than what we have in our LR right now. But, this is why I am asking and not telling...haha

See my build thread, I put the reasoning there! If nobody buys the TR here, I'll cut a great deal with shipping back to the mainland to someone who will get a lot of great life from it......hopefully it'll be the west coast! hahaha

LR3 owners sound off, which tires?

Any particular reason "other than stock"? You can probably find a 5 wheel set of OEM 18" Disco 3 wheels of any year for less than $500 on the mainland and other $100 for shipping on a pallet. Designed and ready to carry anything you will put your Disco through! Mind you a cracked aftermarket...

LR3 owners sound off, which tires?

Ahhhhhh, you are correct good sir. I should have clarified as I mean I will stay as narrow as operationally beneficial and possible. Many on here seem to want to keep going bigger and wider; I just don't see the overall benefit. So yes, I plan to stay as close to stock width as possible, just...

I'll be offloading my beautiful TR front bumper once I figure out my aluminum design. It'll be posted on here first for all you loyal LR lovers. I'll try not to bash it up too bad. Haha

LR3 owners sound off, which tires?

OEM TDV6 wheel which is just under a 17x8. I'll measure for sure when I get them but I'm not concerned since just about every LR that crossed the Camel Trophy was on pizza cutter 17" BFG MTs. Yes the weight is much greater in my LR3 fully loaded to fully loaded Defender at times, but if the...

Some great MPGs Last night I did some recall and such with the GAP tool and filled up the tank. I left early for the North Shore in hopes to beat traffic and have a smooth ride. Granted the avg speed is not applicable to most mainland driving but here in Hawaii speeds are pretty slow and lots...

    Project Victory_Overland 08 LR3 Build Thread!

@sunrisehiker do you know what the output is on the Denso? Reason I'm asking is because the point of this was to upgrade the output over the factory alternator for my dual battery set up. If the Denso is a factory rated output than I'm in the same boat as what I have now. LR3/4 are known for...

Anyone have an IIDTool and an LR3?

Double check your tail lights and see if they are all functioning correctly. If you do not have factory LR tail light bulbs in all places of your rear of your rig, change them out to factory even if the aftermarket ones light up. The Ohms are different and messes with the suspension...

Land Rover Discovery 5 (LR5?) in the wild

Can't speak for Jeep because I never have and never will step a foot in a dealership with intent to buy a Rubi. I could honestly say different if they built that SUV/ Safari concept I saw a while back. Harley for sure has aftermarket and mods in mind. My cousin is on a design team. HD stands...

Did you do all of the gearbox calibrations too? I seriously gained 1-2 legit MPGs after I recalled and updated everything. Great feeling.

Looks great Connor. Sorry you had so much trouble with the fit. Mine went right on and the front gave me a bit of trouble but I attribute that do doing it alone. Love the M&M cover......can't wait to get my spare hanging one day.

Stoked the Gap worked out for you. That thing is worth every penny and usually pays for itself on the first use. Congrats.

:wings::smiley_drive: NO more pictures needed for my install brother! I didn't need a grinder or cut-off wheel either. It took longer to trim the fender flares with my tin snips than it did to install the bumper. Went on like a glove, and I don't mean an O.J. glove either! The front was a...
