Nothing should be applied over unsealed wood. Me? I took the extra step by fiberglassing it first and then primed it. Monstaliner says you can seal with a gloss oil-based polyurethane. T

    f250ben's plywood skeletonized teardrop

I THINK this is true. Toyota rims are hub-centric. Trailer axles are lug-centric. https://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Hub-Centric-Vs-Lug-Centric This may give you a headache but that's part of teardrop building. I'm not sure how this will affect what you are trying to do by running Tacoma...

    f250ben's plywood skeletonized teardrop

I've been pulling a 1400 pound teardrop for many trips with my Tacoma since 2013 and have never felt the need for trailer brakes –In all of those miles, I have never had to pile on brakes. Maybe it's because I live in the boonies. But having typed that, this new build has brakes. They aren't...

Wandering handymen Cheap camp/work trailer build

It does look super but the sun will eat it up. Get a quart of Minwax Helmsman (spar varnish) and give it one more coat. T

    Teardrop #4

Ouch. Back in the day I fought (wild) fire in Alaska. Did it for a decade. Not the same as being on a ship but I kinda know the "migrant" labor pain. I've got a quart of Herculiner sitting on the shelf I'm going to use on these fenders. No dings with it on my existing 'drop. Maybe I'll get...

Suitable trailer for small travel trailer build

Welding isn't a big mystery. Spend some time on Youtube. Hobart 140 welders aren't too expensive. Grab some scrap steel and start welding. Build you're own. T

Jerry can vs Rotopax for trailer

Are you sure? This spring I spent 20 night in the SW desert and gas was never an issue. Even pulling my trailer I have a 350 mile range. T

Suitable trailer for small travel trailer build

There have been a few builders over on www.tnttt.com use those trailers for teardrops. For whatever reason, all online trailers have an odd speed limit and it's the cheap-ass tires they put on them. BTW, the smaller the tire, the faster the bearings spin at a given speed. Sure, you can put...

It was just like rolling latex. (with their special rollers) The cabin is fiberglassed. I wouldn't put it on bare wood. T

    f250ben's plywood skeletonized teardrop

Your brain is cranking. One thing the jumps out at me with your design is that near-90º angle on your hatch. How are you going to build that? Here's my hatch: No flex. Seals like a refrigerator. And how it's built: The other thing is that your door opening (and please tell me it's two...

There are plenty of Youtube videos showing the rolling process. The stuff is designed to roll on with their rollers. That's where the texture comes from. T
