    First camper build

I'll be rolling on Monstaliner this week over fiberglassed plywood. I'll probably add something to my thread, "Teardrop #4". Gotta finish the doors first. T

    First camper build

It looks like you are sheathing your framing with 3/4" ply? What will you cover the plywood with? T

How can I build a freeze proofed water system for my trailer?

I'm sure your right but the info says that it turns on at 45º and shuts off at 65º. Heating that water 20º with 4.8 amps is going to take a long time. Using DC current for heat is a nasty drain on batteries. Your best bet is to insulate the heck out of it and let its mass hold the heat. You...

    Roof framing

You're overthinking this. It isn't a problem. As I said, use your tongue jack. "I’m considering building a mini truss style roof with about 1/2 rise in the center of the roof to prevent ponding." What are you going to sheath with? How will your sheathing deal with that? T

How can I build a freeze proofed water system for my trailer?

That thing sucks 4.8 amps/hour. That's 115 amps per day. Not realistic unless you have another trailer to haul your battery bank in. T

    Roof framing

You'll need a level and a deck of cards to shim your parked camper to get the water to pond. Just give the tongue jack a twist if it is level. T

Expo-Capable Airplane Hauler | Seeking Design Advice

With my Avid –and the Kitfox has the same design– you swing the wing out, drop a 1/4" pin and lock it with a keeper. After the other wing is fixed, you pin the flaperons. Camlock the turtledecks on above the baggage and you're ready to pre-flight. Ten minutes at best. T

Here’s another strange, expandable “off roader”

One of the things I like about a teardrop is once you hit camp. You're ready to camp. With that thing you'd have to make the damn bed. T

Lotta experts here. That's good to know. I built an Avid Flyer. As you know, it and the Kitfox are from the same DNA. Sold it several years ago. N716TL I hangared it at home with the wings folded in a metal garage. I built a trailer that was kind of a big T. I would winch from the...

Metal frame or 3/4" plywood box?

Sorry, Billiebob. It's been winter-stored with that cover for six years. No rot. No moisture. No scratches on the aluminum. From the manufacturer: "Adjustable front and rear tension panels and elasticized hem corners provide a custom fit, integrated air vent system combined with quick drying...
