New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

So, is the rock crawl mode thing just to make life easier? Or does it do something better than a two foot pedal operator? It's not like there are manual transmissions in these things. I don't like paying for something electronic that I can do manually if I can avoid it.

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

Front/rear lockers and steep gearing options are what is be looking for, follows by the ability to fit larger tires with minimal lift. Don't really need fancy bison level suspensions or Raptor suspension, tho the roads here might suggest otherwise. Been finding more and more that to get a few...

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

My buddy had 280k on his 4.0 Pathy before he got an Armada. The tiny tank and his 8' wide trailer didn't do his range any favours with the pathy ? To be fair he took care of it. Often it was as clean as my kitchen.

Maybe it's the excessive price tags

They don't even sell those up in Canada anymore, and I've yet to see more than two frontiers on a lot at once at any given time. 55k for a Ram Classic is not worth it at all and it can sit on the lot and rust. Especially at 5-8% finance rates. 58k for a Cherokee is ludicrous. I'd consider one...

Maybe it's the excessive price tags

I was looking at used ones as a "cheap" commuter that can be used for bush camping as well when I'm not with my wife and the trailer. Used Trailhawk were like 30k and new ones were around 40k or something. I forget. It was far too high, especially with their mediocre reliability

Maybe it's the excessive price tags

Came across this article today https://www.thedrive.com/news/jeep-dealers-have-enough-renegades-on-hand-to-last-2-years Considering a Cherokee Trailhawk with the luxury package is 58K CAD locally and they don't want to deal, might have something to do with it. Same thing with the Ram 1500...

    Motorcycle Concealed Carry

I so wanted to extreme Bob my Forty Eight and have a Mares Leg or carbine .357 in a scabbard. When I get my act together and get an ADV, (hopefully a V-Strom) my take down 12" bbl Chiappa .357 will accompany on bush camping trips. Pretty well impossible for civilians to get permit for carrying...

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

Oh yes, but originally I figured Ranger would have the 3.3 and not the 2.3 EB. On paper the 2.3 EB probably shows better fuel economy. In an F150 that I'd "overland" in etc I'd go 2.7. The aluminum SCAB F150 with 3.3 is more comparable in power to weight to the NA V6 mid size crew cabs.

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

Probably packaging reasons and/or that the market is pointing towards boosted smaller engines for lifestyle trucks. Like CAFE stuff. Stay out of the boost driving slow to the hardware or box store for some mulch or a few 2x4s or fence posts and the fuel economy on paper is probably better. If I...

    Mammoth Expedition Doomsday Trailer

Who could afford to shoot a BAR after paying for that trailer? All sorts of conflicting things going on with that trailer.

    Mazda CX-5 GTR/Signature or Toyota Rav4 Adventure/TRD

Here, while using build and price, the Mazda CX30 forced me up a few trims to get the NA 2.5 engine. IIRC I could more easily get a CX5 with that engine and less features. The CX50 meridian is too pricey and too loaded for no real off pavement gains.

So Nissan is the only NA truck left in the game unless you count the Ridgeline or Santa Cruz. Edit: Actually not even sure you can get an NA Santa Cruz in canada

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

I have really enjoyed this thread everyone. Lots of valid points and interesting discussion. Currently with the lack of full size incentives, mid size trucks are more affordable. Being a person who finds an XLT F150 significantly equipped, I dislike how the off road trims are all jamming in...

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

I wouldn't want to rely on our healthcare (except I do...) and would gladly pay for insurance to get timely and effective healthcare. A friend moved to the USA from here and is slightly ahead financial even with the highest tier of health insurance available. Mind you he is in his early 40s and...

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

Makes me feel a touch better knowing IF I can ever afford a truck again, I'll be keeping somebody in Kansas City or Dearborn employed. @ChasingOurTrunks almost nobody finances at 6 year terms now if 7-8 years are offered. It's how everyone affords to drive around in 60k+ vehicles and live in...

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

That sucks to hear about the houses. My experience with insurance, both on the claims side, and the afterwards construction/renovation side, is that most people aren't insured the way they think they are. Built a stripped down Gren on the builder, hit $99,9XX in short order and closed the...
