"I've not seen any US pricing yet, where you getting $1800 from?"
I didn't go any farther than this: https://www.caravanrvcamping.com.au/truma-vario-eco-gas-heater-Caravan-motor-Home-Recreational-Vehicle
The problem with the Timbrens is that they as you know, they are not attached to each other and thus need to be adjusted. They need to be parallel and set for the right camber -independently. You don't just bolt them to a properly squared chassis and expect them to track. Kind of like a...
"but from the several threads I've read it seems to eliminate anything with a Torsion bar axle..."
The U.S. military apparently isn't reading the same posts.
I looked hard at the so-called axle-less products for build #4, again will use a Dexter Torflex. No adjustments and not interested...
I've towed teardrops for fifteen years, have built three, and in the planning stages for #4. Here's my is my answer:
Building challenge
Interior fenders swells would be a pain
If you build with the tires inside and add floor height it'll be a pain to get in and out of
Decreased stability in...
I can't help you with your specific questions... but no galley? Are you sure?
Small is good... but a 4-wide? Are you sure about that too? (I've owned both a 4 and a 5-wide. A foot is a mile in a teardrop.

I used to bookmark every teardrop manufacturer I came across. Most of those links no longer work.
Here's my advice: Beware the trailer maker that has photos of one trailer on their website.
T
I'm sure the trailer tails work because they are commonly seen. I hope your neighbor is right about the 12% savings but it begs the question: Why aren't they popular? Trucking companies would pounce on a 12% fuel burn.
But grab some and let us know.
T
The flat back of trailers suck. Literally.
I don't remember ever seeing those air tabs on a semi-trailer except in their adds. If they worked, they'd be on every trailer on the road. Fuel eats profit, obviously.
The subject has been studied...
I'd be suspicious that the wiring in one of those trucks was wrong. Were both wired at the factory wired or somebody's project? A continuity checker at the plugins would tell you if something was wrong –or hook them up to a different trailer.
T
Nope, my wife and I welded that chassis. That trailer was a wedding gift for her son. Welding isn't a mystery.
Go to a bar. Make friends with a guy that looks like a welder. Culture that friendship. Dump him if he doesn't weld. (Don't you have a weird uncle that welds?)
T
Unless you two are skinny as marathon runners, I suggest you build a 5-wide 'drop --the HF trailers are 4' wide. (I had a 4-wide for a decade. A foot in a teardrop is a mile.) And yes, those tires are tiny.
Northern Tool sells a 5'x8' trailer and you could extend your cabin out another foot to...
Great rig!
I'm scratching my head on your power consumption. I've got a Group 27 marine and am going to downsize to a Group 24 AGM on my next build. We use the battery for charging phones, two LED lights, a Fantastic fan and when it's chilly preheating our bed with a 12V electric blanket for a...
Every time I bump into another teardropper, we talk. Frequently they're DIY. Some of those campers have been marvelous pieces of craftsmanship –once in a while I see one that is a little rough.
But every builder I have ever chatted with has been damned pleased with their little camper. They're...
