I have 33s on my Transit with a 2in spindle/block lift. I recently did some testing and 3 wheeled it....I will post the pic with air under the tire but this gives a taste (phone pic)
I am 4 1/2in over stock and I would not go much taller.
Quadvan is working on a 4in lift for the Transit...
Granted I only have 6500 miles on my Ecoboosted Transit but I love it, torque peak at 2500 rpm is just right.
My van rolled out of the factory at 5780lbs and rolled across the dyno at 8200lbs and still had 358ftlbs of torque with 4.10 gears and 33in tires.
The Quadvan conversion has been easy to...
I would like to hear some post event thoughts from anyone who competed or helped.
I have a couple of friends who want to do this next year and since it ain't cheap I want to gather as much info as possible.
Not that I am aware of, I am current 10mph off by GPS, 18% by tire calc. I have done some long distance testing and the 18% seems good.
After SEMA I will be looking deeper into the speedo issue.
Well before letting Racechip start working their tune magic I thought I would be fun to get a baseline dyno test....
And it was a hoot, scary as crap with a rig I need to put into the SEMA show in a few days but still fun.
So ugly and worse approach angles for someone who actually wants to wheel.
I understand why they wanted to protect/hide the washer bottle but I am so glad I was able to swap to the older bumper.
This pic is before we put on the skid plates which protect the intercooler, diff, t-case & gas tank
Db Skin is working really well especially with how easy it paints on. You don't get the heavy "thud" of the stick on stuff like their Db Armor but there is less noise and the freq is deeper vs a tinny sound.
I am doing it in phases to see just how much I have to apply. I think I will still put...
Exactly like MG says, the rear is 9.75 Full Floater that has been around for years and Quadvan uses the Raptor 8.8 front diff.
I now have Eaton TruTrac front & rear with 4.10 gears vs the 3.31 I left the factory with.
It has been a mad dash across the country but the pleasure of working with great companies has made it worthwhile. The frustrations caused by others is part of the process but still sucks.
This is a quick update with limited wifi so I will hit the highpoints…
The Sportsmobile top is amazing...
Quick post from the road.
Yesterday I got the new Aluminess bumper installed and while I knew there was a new and improved design I had not seen it.
Yeah no, the approach angle is all wrong for someone like me who will wheel harder than most.
I understand the reason they changed for cosmetic...
PLG & Forum Update 10/16 only 18 days to Build a Van
Currently at in the Aluminess Customer Louge writing this up while the shop folks make front bumper magic happen.
Like many things along “the road to SEMA” (I am almost getting tired of saying that), I am sure there will be mistakes in my...

Sometimes trying to be too cool can come back to haunt you....
Before you make like you are "someone", figure out if you are better off being "no one"...
Good thing you are too many countries away to stop me from grabbing Condor! Martin and I are happy to fund your continued adventured through a very very long term rental of Condor :)
I wrote up a budget and updated it with where the cash is flowing up to this point.
All about full disclosure for everyone, unless I say I got a discount or price is To Be Determined (TBD) then I am paying the amount shown.
You can read the details on the website, I will try to update it at...
