The Grand Terrainer: 2017+ Ford F-250 and SpaceKap Diablo 8'

Another update/upgrade now. I decided to pick up a portable induction cooktop for the rig. Unfortunately, my little Tripp Lite 1500 watt modified sine inverter is not going to cut it. Upgrading to a AIMS 3000 watt pure sine inverter. I really like my little Cobb grill, but this will be way...

Possible long travel air bags and managable ride?

Yes, I have the heavy load model on the rear for my F250 rig and have been very pleased: https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/the-grand-terrainer-2017-ford-f-250-and-spacekap-diablo-8.207675/ From everything I have read, they seem to be a step up from what Timbrens would offer (less...

Possible long travel air bags and managable ride?

    Ever thought of trying Sumosprings?

    WTB Travel Trailer

I am actually thinking about building my own insulated squaredrop camper (space to sit up at least compared to small teardrops) similar to this guy's: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=72564 He is selling for $3k and based in Idaho. Simple 4' x 4' x 8' insulated box on a harbor freight...

    Shower Thoughts.............?

I have a Kariba shower time kit and 5 gallon stainless steel jerry can. I primarily just use the pump for filling water bottles, but I very occasionally attach the shower head attachment for showers which works well. Survivewipes work well for me between showers to keep clean.

    SpaceKap Diablo

Just FYI, I was told by SpaceKap that the cabover portion alone is built to hold up to 300lbs for anyone else curious about that.

    Sumosprings?

Glad to opine. They make the Sumo Springs with different firmness levels (different colors) for different loads. I went with the firmest ones (black) for my F-250/SpaceKap camper for maximum stability.

    WTB: Preowned Teardrop Trailer

Hello All- I am looking to buy a nice, little, well insulated preowned teardrop trailer for a family member for under $4k ideally. Based in San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks! John

    Sumosprings?

I have rear Sumospring Rebels on my F-250 to support my camper. They are great and I highly recommend them. Nothing to adjust or worry about like leaks in traditional airbags. Handling is amazing now.

The Grand Terrainer: 2017+ Ford F-250 and SpaceKap Diablo 8'

I just upgraded the tires to handle driving in mud conditions without airing down constantly like with the mild AT stock Michelins. Cooper Discoverer STT Pros in 265/70/R17. These are about as aggressive I dared to not be too loud or otherwise irritating for a daily driver. First impressions...

Best Aggressive All Terrain or Mild Mud Terrain Tire?

Nice! I actually had those on my previous old jeep. Very good all around all terrain tires. I can highly recommend those too.

Best Aggressive All Terrain or Mild Mud Terrain Tire?

Thanks All! I decided to go with Cooper STT Pros 265/70R17 and getting them swapped on tomorrow. They might be a bit overkill but as someone who does hit the dirt regularly and is a low mileage/non-commute driver I think they should do the trick.

Best Aggressive All Terrain or Mild Mud Terrain Tire?

Thanks so much! I will be getting my fully loaded rig weighed which I have been putting off as well. My camper and upgrades are way under the GVWR, but it will be good to know exactly how much. Great points all around on measuring and optimizing the tire pressure based on the weight...

Best Aggressive All Terrain or Mild Mud Terrain Tire?

I was thinking about making some adjustments to tire pressure as well. On the current tires, I have just under the max pressure on the rears (~78 psi) and 5 less on the front (~73 psi). I am looking for an all around setup that I don't need to fidget with all the time ideally. I don't really...

Best Aggressive All Terrain or Mild Mud Terrain Tire?

I actually drive in and out of this property all the time (every other day), so I think it would be totally worthwhile, haha. 2-3 months of the year access totally depends on the weather. I think I could handle a little more road noise with the Cooper STT Pros. Any good wheel recommendations?

Best Aggressive All Terrain or Mild Mud Terrain Tire?

I have an 2019 F-250 4x4 (no e-locker) with a pretty light SpaceKap camper build currently with the stock wheels and Michelin LTX AT-2s. There is a property with a pretty steep hill dirt track (20 degrees with one short section over 30 degrees) that I frequent and occasionally cannot seem to...

Open Floor Plan Ursa Minor J30 Build - 2015 JKU

Well, Rock Hard now makes the new JL bolt on bar: https://www.rockhard4x4.com/product_p/rh-90705.htm Has anyone heard of someone trying to cut out the standard roll bar on the new JL Unlimited to replicate this layout?

Simple, affordable, tube frame roof tent design

I really like this idea! If you use high end sail cloth for the tent section and some kind of heavy duty trampoline/hammock material for the base it would be a great combo. RTTs are way too expensive and heavy although I liked my Autohone Columbus OK. This would be cheaper, lighter, and most...

The Grand Terrainer: 2017+ Ford F-250 and SpaceKap Diablo 8'

Also a plug for the folks at hiatus campers and their very clever pop-up hardtop truck campers: https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/hard-sided-pop-up-camper-by-hiatus-campers.210012/ I would definitely go with that design over a new retail SpaceKap for the money.
