Lightwieght vs. Strength will always be your battle. I would make sure it stays together first, then think of how to keep it light.

I would brace the floor like you mentioned, either would work but the IXIXI would be stronger. Lighter gauge tubing would work with all the triangulation you'd have going on.

I bet with several corner braces you could make that thing as stiff as a drum.

I would go with the 8000 all day long, and really get a few good shackles, and a good pulley block... there isn't much you wouldn't be able to get out of with a setup like that.
Nothing like a winch to give me confidence to go a little further before I get REALLY stuck...:rolleyes...

Now that is a trailer! Mine will be much more simple than that but wow, it looks like the first travel trailer I have ever seen on terrain like that.

For me I am trying to make sure I dont pull a D'oh after the fact, but it really wont matter that much with regards to the tent, it will effect the placement of my on board shower and which side I mount it to. thanks again everyone.
