    Thinking about an UZJ100...

The hundred series is a sweet rig! Personally, I like the 80 series with the lockers, you could score a clean low mileage cruiser for WAY less than a newer 100. Just a thought, both are outstanding rigs... I love the solid front axle of the 80's. Rezarf <><

for those with tents on trailers...

Yep, you explained it well. However, I am building this trailer from scratch and haven't built the lid yet so I was wondering if anyone had any great wisdom of something I was missing before I started to comit to one side or the other. Thanks!

for those with tents on trailers...

This is a bit trivial, but for those with tents ontop of their trailers, do you have the tent fold out to the drivers side or the passenger side. Why? I might be making mountains outta mole hills on this one. Just trying to be thorough before fab work begins on mine. Rezarf <><

    trailer mounted tents

The Magellon (sp?) seems like it is a breeze to setup, but I see another major advantage of not having a wet tent fold onto a dry mattress. Is this an issue for anyone? Drew

    Car-top-tent pros/cons?

Seriously, I too live in this great state and I see several advantages that you might not have considered yet. First off, under my fj40... which I can sit Indian style under the bed area, would have to be one sweet spot of campground to convience me to sleep under my rig. A tent 14" high would...

Scratch Building a trailer... got a few questions

Just ordered up my axle from www.abctrailerparts.com Randy is the owner and I am getting a 3500lb axle, 6x5.5 hubs, spring perches, springs, ubolt kit, shackles, hangers, lug nuts, and easy lube hubs, and all the hardware to make it work... ...custom fabbed to my spec's 55" wide (trackwidth)...

Scratch Building a trailer... got a few questions

Well, I just returned from my Honeymoon with my beautiful bride in Australia and I must say I am now VERY motivated to get this trailer going. I have decided to change my design a bit and go for a 7' long box, and to make it around 30" tall vs. the shorter m416 style sides which are a little...

    Car-top-tent pros/cons?

I have seen a lot of CTT that can be used on a trailer lid and still be accessed with the tent opened on top. You will want the hinge for the trailer lid to be under the hinge side of the tent. FWIW, this is one of the best reasons for a good tailgate and slide out doors in my humble opinion...

Do you guys have a piece of legendary gear?

My MSR Stowaway Pot and Wisperlite International are still running strong and I have owned three other stoves since... and I keep heading back to the dead set reliabilty of the MSR Stove/Pot setup. Gotta love the classics. Drew

    solar shower bags

I plan on using one of these solar bags but have it "tee'd" into my pump line and be able to pump it through my on board water shower/sink setup. I will use an external garden hose quick disconnect, and then a ball valve to either run from the tank or the bladder. I will let you know how it...

Scratch Building a trailer... got a few questions

Hey Guys- What do you think about electric brakes on a unit this size (similar to the chaser) I know that they use them and their design seems very top notch! Opinions? I can add it to my axle that I am having built for 75 bucks... just thought I would see what you think. Thanks in advance...
