    Destination Unknown - a 1997 F350 build

I have considered something similar. Well see what research brings up over the next few weeks.

    Destination Unknown - a 1997 F350 build

Well I certainly have considered something like that in the past. But the honest and simple reality is right now I just don't have the time to do such a project. Aside from the fact that space is a premium right now (truck and trailer are both FULLY packed between personal items and work...

On a side note, I did find out some troubling news. This new position turned out to only be seasonal work. Permanent, but seasonal due to weather. Understandably so, but frustrating since I really didn't know that prior to accepting the position - not that it would have made a difference. So...

Well the trip here was interesting. 2 tire blowouts on the road, one replaced on the highway, the other I had to use one of my two spares - but found out ALL the tires were bad apparently. Les Shwab came to the rescue in a small town on the main highway - funny how neither of my two roadside...

More pics. Boy this canopy was an excellent find/buy! I have NO clue how I would be packing for this trip otherwise.... And it came in just in time, only a week ago!

Oh but you have to love autocorrect! It makes for some great conversations sometimes haha. That's what I was thinking...... The one I am using is from Sky. I'll try and post up a pic if I can but it might be a while, leaving tomorrow morning. This is great to know! I'll be looking to pick...

Yeah I'm at a total loss for the springs. I honestly don't' know what's going on. I don't think the bushing is loose in the springs. It seems more like the bushing is 'sliding' on the bolt if anything? All are the same up front (rear springs are fine). All 4 mounts are shifted to the right...

On a positive note though, I got a decent load plan for packing the truck (pics to come later maybe). It's 'temporary' since the plan is for a service bed next year, but it will work pretty well for this summer at least. Almost everything is in there, some things are hidden away, and most...

Well I found another issue the other day when packing. The HPOP is leaking out the back. Its a new adrenaline pump, so that's irritating. It's not a install issue, rather its a manufacturers defect. Leaking out the back side right where the snap ring is. I found puddles of oil in the valley...

Springs..... I haven't noticed any rubbing, and I think all is 'ok' other than maybe some dogtracking, but it just seems odd to me..... Not quite sure hot to correct it either. The track bar and panhard bracket are solid and that could be a source for correction, but at the same time I wonder...

    Project "Autonomous" F-350

ah ok makes sense now. straps isnt a horrible idea but I feel like if not very cautious, they could cause more damage and cracking. I guess it also depends on how much stress that area gets. Especially if you plan on using all the available mounts then the overall stress level should be...

What researched showed a welding risk? I'm curious.... Like Hillbilly, I personally wouldn't feel very comfortable with epoxy - then again, I'm not familiar with epoxy on metal much.... Have you been able to figure out how deep the crack is??

So last wednesday I headed out to a somewhat remote place for a variety of things, which included towing my trailer and doing a full test of systems of the trailer and truck. Everything worked flawlessly!! The truck was loaded about as much as it will be this summer. Aside from my 7K trailer...

Yeah I think I have seen that one before, and I think even on my build on page 3, Motafinga posted a photo of a bag gone wrong on a frame. Either way the bags are on hold for now - my gooseneck from the previous owner was not totally installed correctly, and i'm worried removal will reveal a...

Yeah you are correct Day-Star does sell cups for firestone bags. In fact this has been my plan all along knowing that the suspension changes have increased travel which is not conducive to the airbags unless it is totally stock. So to allow for significant travel off road, and support on...

Yeah 11K is heavy. I'm really hoping to stay under 10, but from my thoughts I will be over. So 105 gal of fuel, plus front and rear winch bumpers, 2 spares, service bed with saws, equipment, recovery gear, etc... and of course a pop-up with 300#'s of kayaks (not all the time though). I'm...

Almost forgot - I also feel the need to say, that using proper protective equipment is a absolute must, at all times. I know several people who usually scoff at such ideas, especially when painting, even if its only a few cans such as today. And in the past, especially with cleaning agents, I...
