Have you checked your fully loaded weight at the scales? Just wondering the viability of that big of vehicle on F.S. roads where most bridges (in my area anyway) seem to have a 12 ton limit (mostly built for fire service access).
Recently I have considered a F700 - but with off road travels...
That's what I thought until I started doing some more research and reading.

Seen from this video there is significant flex, and the truck is unloaded. This is not my truck, but the types of roads are...
Since I am here: an update
Since my first post, things have been absolutely crazy! Of course I'm sure all you know how busy finishing your bachelors can be - and coupled with summer work the mods have been put on hold. Additionally, this is due to what seems to be lack of vendor support (in...
Nathaniel - I am finishing my bachelors in Forest Resource Management - so I need to be quite mobile for a while. Naturally my work field pretty much requires the ability to be as mobile as possible for the firs few years. Ok well 'require' is a strong word, but it will certainly set me way...
Not sure if you are still considering a 7.3 swap but I like it. I tow a 7K trailer and about 1-2K in the bed and still get around 15 mpg (I live in hilly-mountain terrain). Unloaded I can get up to 21. But that is all with 210K miles and 100% stock components - a engine refresh and some minor...
Oh yeah, theres a few good Austrailian companies that build that style of set-up. Can't remember their names though - I'm sure shipping would be rough. But I would check them out for ideas - most Aussie 4X4 expeditions I have seen like to use that sort of set-up and have some very well built rigs.
Haha you replied as I was editing. I'm sure they can make non-pop-up versions. It would probably be easier and cheaper to build too. I'm not sure how I feel about their corner construction though.

They claim to be able to make just about anything. 100% custom. I contacted them about something similar but have not heard back yet. They did say theyre filling orders for 2018 though, so I would imagine what your looking for is custom - anything custom is expensive...
I'm assuming the smell is in regards to the food being cooked in a small space? I currently live in a 17' trailer (for the last 6 months anyway), so cooking inside isnt too much of a bother - it does make for a lot of olfactory sensations but I open a bunch of windows and turn the fans on...
Thanks Dutch
Yeah I looked up some specs for marine diesel fireplaces even (way different than a air heater) and was amazed at the listed specs. I bet a air heater is even better, although it has the addition of a 12v fan requirement.
What is it you like/dislike about the ceramic cook top...
I'm currently working up some ideas for a trailer build (and 'canopy camper'), and one of the many considerations is what to do about water heater, air heater, oven/stove operation. I am seriously considering a diesel set-up, and going with a 12V only marine fridge and freezer with a decent...

Intro
Ok, so since I’m new here and this is my first post, let me first introduce myself. Name is Chad. I grew up doing nothing but outdoors stuff. By the age of...
