It is a nationwide problem. Congestion and labor issues.
Union Pacific just announced it is postponing the west coast tour of UP4014 Big Boy due to rail congestion.

One interesting possibility would be something similar to the recent Hallmark Nevada 1/2 and 1/2. So half slide in on one side and flatbed on the other. Flatbed side on the kitchen side perhaps to expand stowage and slide in side on the other for external storage box. (video posted on Instagram...
One idea. We're the Russos did a swap in the FWC flatbed from the Dometic to the Truma Vario heat. They covered it in a YT video. Top 5 Truck and Camper mods.
Some nice work and additions. Will you remove the Weboost when on the move? It appears to be only secured with the RAM mount? Can you describe the telescoping pole and mount for the Starlink, which congrats on getting. Interested to hear how it works in Baja.
I was wondering when someone would do this. Hopefully you do some YT on the install, interested in how you go about it. The price point on these is nearing the point that “5000 cycles and lasts 10 years” to paraphrase really does not does not seem to matter as much. Replace and recycle as needed.
I think there is a market for an 8 foot, rear door slide in. Look at Hallmark. Some of their models are pushed into 2024 for new orders I believe. The F350, F450, 3500 crowd with CCLB may want that longer floorplan without going to a 4500 lbs. monster with a slide out.
OEV certainly seems open...
Oh boy. Nice exclusive you got, well done. Sounds interesting.
I did recently see on Hallmarks Instagram they are building a custom 1/2 1/2. Driver side is built as slide, so presumably could have external storage built as on a flatbed. The passenger side is built for a flatbed, so no slide...
Howard, I agree there is nothing like a good wood stove on a winter night.
Have you seen this thread from montypower (Peter)?
He covers suspension, lift, gearing, tires, winch, lockers, etc. He is active in the forum and answers questions on his build. Also covers the build on his YT channel...
If you have not read this thread, you should.
