So yes, I got a full Thuren kit and their King steering damper. I went with the Carli add-a-leaf simply because Thuren doesn't offer one. He has a full replacement leaf pack but I would like to keep as much of my payload as possible.
Awesome. This is all very good info and exactly what I was looking for. So far with the Aisin and 3.73's the truck drives beautifully. With the G56 I'm sure a lower gear will be much appreciated.
I plan on going full Synergy for steering. Tie rod, drag link, steering box brace, ect.
Suspension should be shipping end of this week or beginning of next. I had to change my order from the Fox RR's to IFP's. Fox dropped the ball on when they said they would be ready and I do not want to wait another 4-5 weeks with no guarantee.
The camera itself comes with a hardwire kit that I will be using with fuse taps (no splicing of wires) which I know will work for our trucks. I tried installing today with an OBDII plug-in kit they sell but it doesn't work so I am returning that. I need to go get the taps and then will finish...
Thanks I appreciate the kind words! It is what it is and it all works out in the end. That's what I believe anyways.
Whoever buys the Airstream is getting a very good base to work with... Hell even if it's someone who just needs a beefy ass trailer frame. Easy to remove the shell and floor
In the middle of installing a dashcam. I really don't understand why more people don't have these. They have more than paid for themselves in my last two vehicles. I have also received discounts on insurance...
With how much this truck is and will be on the road, I feel it's mandatory to have...
Ordered some parts that will make the exhaust louder and hear the turbo whistle. No I'm not hot rod-ing it nor do I want +120hp. I want it clean, reliable, and more efficient.
2-3 weeks away from getting my Thuren suspension! Very excited.
Around that time I should be getting the Carli add-a-leaf as well.
Goose Gear rear seat delete should be here around the beginning of November...
Still trying to sell my Airstream project that will fund the AT Overland topper...
No real power loss at all with the tires honestly. What it did do is smooth out the 1-2-3 shifts of the Aisin on takeoff since it's geared so low compared to the 68RFE. Drives even better than it did before in my opinion.
I will say I do have a loss in fuel mileage which, of course, is to be...
There's something quite special about Texas farmland and ranches huh?
I hope everything works out for you. Coronavirus making my job remote and a failed relationship made me realize I needed to get the hell out. And start an overlanding project ?
