We have been in the design process for building a strong set of sliders/ steps that would work with most of the van builds. As many of you know there is not a lot of room to bolt anything up so these have a weld on bracket and frame overlay. For those of you that would like to have the ability...
Looks really nice with the wheels and tires! Rear long travel springs are coming....... here is a batch of radius arm brackets ready for the mig oven.... standard with all our stage 2 kits.
All the bumpers are 2" mild steel, we can custom build you one out of DOM if you would like?
This van is already long gone and headed east. We finished it late so outside pics were not really an option. Its tight to the front, main tube is about 3.5" from the grill to the outside of the tube...
Thanks guys, All it takes is one of you to take the plunge and order one.... we will custom build it similar to this style for the older model. First person to order one I will give you a 30" LED light bar for to finish it off like this one..... Who's ready?
Recently the guys over at Agile Off Road and I were discussing their latest conversion of an 2008 and newer Ford camper van build. The customer wanted a front bumper for added protection but didn't want anything huge, as he was trying to maintain sleek low profile look for an already large van...
We can do Bilstein or the fox Agile shocks in the front and rear with this kit. Not to mention a steering stabilizer will help with the worn out steering.
Stage 1 kit " Ocotillo Cruiser"
Here is a look at the stage 1 kit installed and at full compression. Here are some actual numbers to show you what is going on with the front suspension. The coils for our 4" kit "Ocotillo Cruiser" are 19" and shock length is 18" at full extension. Now...
This is a step down from the first bumper we built for the E Series vans. This Bumper labeled "CLASSIC" is form and function with the old school look that started it all with the pre runner bumpers. This still has a 2" main tube and also utilizes the same size for the frame mounting horns. The...
Keep in mind guys they are different ratios.... 12 " of wheel travel you don't need a 12" shock. The shock is moving 3/4"+- while the wheel moves 1+ at the beam". Make sure you get some sweet video off the fall guy jumps.
Ford stopped using I beams in 1996 on the F150, none of which are really the same as the van. I was just mentioning f150 as to emails about lifting older I beam models.
I have always enjoyed my 1997 Ford E250 over a truck since I bought it used in 2001. Only having it a couple years stock, mostly so it would fit in the parking structure I had to put a lift on it. I brought it to the shop and using the same method of lifting Ford rangers and F150's for years...
I agree the bottom corner just doesn't flow like I want! It's a cool bumper that I will keep in the van product line, but going to do a new design that will have the spare tire mount.
Thanks for the feedback....
This week I decided I had to have a rear bumper if I'm going to have the front done. This is the first design that I came up with.
I was going to add a swing spare tire mount to this one but now I think I want a different design...... :bigbossHL:
It would go in front of the grill to keep the approach angle on the skid plate as close to the frame mounts. I should have the next one done with a winch mount done this week, along with the rear bumper with swing out spare tire mount.
Thanks for the kind words on it, glad you guys like it....
Just a heads up for those of you that have had questions regarding wheel size, we recommend going with a 17x8 w 4.5 backspacing. You can get away with the 16" wheel on the older vans because they have smaller brake components. However the newer vans increased brake caliper size have a tendency...
Here is a steel tube bumper I built for my personal van.
We built a fixture for this type of tube bumper if anyone is interested... give us a call or pm... Thanks
