1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

I dunno. Maybe she deserves that GMT400 if she wants it. I mean, she curled up right on the stack of tires. Diesnt say boo about the other vehicles. If you got it, she could spend a little, ha ha

1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

Yep. I've placed it on or off with help. Would love to slam some 6x6 posts into the ground and set up a little sallyport type set up so I can remove it on my own. Just back in between the 4 posts (2 on a side, 1 near front of cap, one at rear), then remove the clamps and some eye bolts hook...

Whether she has an affinity for 1990's trucks, or you are pushing that affinity onto her, I approve! Except I personally prefer with 4x4.

I have a cap on the back of my truck as well. Mine is a Leer 180 with a rack. I see in some of your posts, the cap is on in some pictures and off in others in the same post. How do you get your cap off the truck and back onto it on a whim? Did yi6 set up a gantry at home?

Is GM not the best platform for a overland build?

I've admitted to being a fan of the Silverado and Sierra going back to the days when Silverado was just the top trim of the K20 or 1500's. By the way, as a kid, my dad drove a 1978 Ford 4x2 truck with an 8 ft bed. Deep forest metallic green. We did 24 cord of wood a year out of that thing for...

Is GM not the best platform for a overland build?

GMC was a brand with a following well before GM bought it. GMC stays in the pickup, van, and SUV realm while Chevy does it all. GMC makes up x percent of truck sales and GM is concerned they would lose that percentage if they scrapped the GMC nameplate. Not really different than Chevy...

Is GM not the best platform for a overland build?

Eh. You can overland and camp. You can hike and camp. Just because you have a pickup truck and are overlanding with it doesnt mean you are just camping. If GVW is your indicator of camping, then what are Unimogs and Earthroamers doing? Or vans that are for all intents and purposes 2500 or...

Is GM not the best platform for a overland build?

Towing included, I think. If the truck is rated for 10,000 lbs, towing at 5,000 should be pretty comfortable. Towed my GC WJ with my Sierra quite easily

Is GM not the best platform for a overland build?

Admitted GM fan here. I dont mind IFS at all, but then again, I'm not in the HD world and dont rock my trucks hard overlanding. Lots of highway, some hauling and a little bit of towing. Having said that, Ford likes to claim the F series truck is the best selling for 40 +years. However, GM as...
