Even as a truck guy I like the Maverick. Definitely sorely needed given even in 2000 my durable utility 4dr vehicle options that got decent mileage in a small footprint was basically Subaru.
The F150 has like 110 possible variations that directly impacts load capacity be it axle/gearing, power plant, trim version/weight etc. I see posts like this and it typically created by a guy who bought a small truck that basically comes in one general format with very slight changes to trim...
A over loaded 350 is going to weigh a hell of allot more than a over loaded Tacoma. The negative outcome has exponentially worse results with 2-3x the weight. So its kinda good the bigger truck guys might seem more concerned than the toy truck guys?
A buddy managed property for a major US fuel supplier. They actually don’t sell the property they have 1000’s of contaminated plots all over the US they are just sitting on. I bet many get capped ie sealed and setup as charging locations in the future.
Lithium by the way can be pulled from the...
The height of the Geo in road mode is one of my major negatives. The only Geo that would make sense for me would be the 19FBTH tho which in some ways probably wouldn’t make sense having say a 3 foot pop top style roof like a Dweller. However!! I’d bet that the small toy rigs like that are...
The suspension on these make them a wandering mess at speed. They need a sway bar like a vehicle or just a basic sway arm which is no big deal. Independent suspension with super junk Chinese shocks they definitely don’t tow like a US trailer without some fixes.
The ram power van shocks are said...
Good point on the TV height.
I have definitely experienced tall trailers vs foul wind conditions and its not a pleasant experience ever. Same for my 4x6 total opposite end which has near zero windage factor especially behind a typical SUV height TV. Wind factor is definitely night and day.
Lithium and new technology definitely the future and I’m all for it. But in many cases its cost doesn’t match the power needs especially the 3x a year type?.
Full timers definitely are going to have the most flexible power plan regarding multiple ways to get power to the rig for various...
Not to mention that Toyota put a trash manual in the taco likely to help kill the interest in future manuals so they could just run the same running gear put in all the Camry based vehicles, Sienna, Highlander, Lexus mid sized suv things. Lol
Behind a fence. Your trailer is tiny go eyeball your side fence. If you have a 6ft panel frame it up on the back side between the posts so you can just pop the panel out and walk the trailer back behind the fence. No gate, no change in the look etc.
We had a 612 being used as a gear shed at our...
First gen 3.5 was pre 10spd. A big reason Ford co developed the 10spd with GM was for a flexible transmission capable of dealing with big power.
The early 3.5’s were likely capped and built to a power limit that was transmission reliability limited.
Plus if you look at all modern engines their...
The 3.5 definitely has loads of torque at/just under 2000rpm. Which was only seen in diesel power till the duel turbo technology was finally sorted out so that low RPM power could be found.
The Ecoboosts, the GM 2.7 and now the copy cat Toyota 3.5 are the only gas motors that give diesel like...
If its windy enough to send me inside to cook. You won’t even smell that chipped and modded Cummings diesel running one site over.
I get the anti generator BS but there’s legit complaints and there’s just stupid. Running a modern inverter 2200-2500 generator during a wind storm so one can cook...
My heavy tow pack Expedition has a 1700lb sticker load capacity. The Ford Maverick is pushing 1700 also.
The basic F150 doesn’t have magically impressive payload numbers.
You need to filter through the 150 iterations to sort out the heavy pay load trucks vs the typical basic stuff.
The heavy...
The Subaru butt sag is definitely a thing. All us Subaru guys know about it. You learn to push heavy stuff as far forward as you can. Then you start eliminating heavy stuff adding to the hitch weight. Be it bikes, extra fuel cans on the trailer tongue etc.
8.8 inches doesn’t count if your at 4...
Anyone who buys any depreciating vehicle based on imaginary future value is the same buyer who tells the sales staff what monthly payment amount he can afford.
