I’m going to guess you’re in bad master cylinder territory. You have a good enough seal to push fluid with open bleeders, but once the pressure starts to build, it blows back pst the master cylinder seal and goes nowhere.
I would verify the meaning of that DCDL.
Is it a locking differential, or just a center disconnect lock? If the second, that is where you choose against manual hubs or DCDL. Personally, I would go for solid hubs (aka drive flanges) not lockable, as rotating the front end keeps things happily...
They are holding up really well now 18 or so months after the project. There was no delaminating in the heat last summer and the tent got used a few times.
I would most certainly have preferred a roll of carpet but it would have been impossible to install without disassembly of the tent. The...
I don’t know that I can speak to your specific ask, but a while ago I went through a similar quest for my Jeep. One of the things I realized is that the technology has gotten so low-cost that buying multiple different camera and display sets and mixing/matching to get your final goal isn’t too...
I think a lot has to do with what the vehicle is and the failure mode of the plug.
If the plug is mushroomed or bent and the electrode bit breaks off and falls into the cylinder… various level of not good happen.
In a best repair scenario you pull the head. Maybe instead you inspect with a...
Not sure it hits your price point, but an Expedition Max checks all the other boxes and with the 3.5 Ecoboost it will spank every other mentioned option running empty or lightly loaded. Near 600 mile range, close to 20 mpg with a light foot, really nice ride, plenty of family creature comfort...
I would guess that fuel tank and grey/black tank placement has something to do with it. Clean water can be easily pumped to the use point, but drains are usually gravity devices.
If you can stay in the sun the panels will win out no problem. I have 200W with an MPPT on the roof of my Jeep and run a fridge and several other full-time power accessories off of the 100 Amp-hour? Might actually be 90? starting battery for years at a time with no concerns or issues at all...
Agreed! 3/4x9 flattened is a nice size because bungee hooks and even quite a few ratchet straps will easily engage it. It makes tying stuff down really easy. I use a few sheets a year for all sorts of projects.
Another vote for the plastic banquet table, although I have occasionally considered replacing mine with a stainless version from commercial restaurant supply. They are hard to find, but stainless folding tables are out there.
Waterproof and open top trailer aren’t a great combination. Even with a good cover water will find its way in while following your rig down a rainy road. I strongly recommend floor drains, if not open all the time, at least weld on some pipe thread fittings you can easily remove plugs from in...
LOL, I spent at least 30 seconds on one of your pictures trying to figure out what was mounted on the bottom before I realized that you had appliances sitting in the garage in front of the trailer!
I’m surprised you still have this. I tow one behind my JKU and love it.
GLWS. Maybe tax...
If you are running into layout / placement / wire routing issues, there are a few things you might do to help yourself…. Use with caution if you are uncertain or uncomfortable calculating loads:
Either power or ground busses can save a lot of back and forth wire routing, although the end up...
My neighbors were suitably impressed!
One would think they’ve gotten used to project vehicles by now… but I bet they are glad this one was transient and not a full-time purchase! 😆
I haven’t, but putting a metal detector against the wall might tell you a lot.
Also, if you have access to a FLIR / other thermal camera, putting a heat source inside and taking pictures on a cold night could also be very informative.
My kids, and me too, consider the RTT to be the best tree fort ever. Sometimes I’ll set it up for them to play in the yard.
One consideration is that kids develop rapidly. I always chuckle when I see new parents discussing getting a different car “to fit the car seat” … I keep cars 8-15...
I could see having a telescopic pole that you could adjust to the height needed when taking the tire down and use it as a “leg or brace” to support the weight while lifting it into place.
They also make a non-threaded / smooth long stud adapter for some euro cars to install wheels more easily...
Any evidence that the cap itself has been repaired? Any chance that swapping the windows side to side would help the fit?
It sounds like you might be SOL with some sort of minor design change over the years and the prior owner might have felt silicone was the best available option.
