Were you testing from one side of the fuse to the other, or from one side of the fuse to a known ground? I’m going to hope it was to a known ground. In continuity mode (reading ohms, the omega symbol) the meter is likely displaying OL, meaning open line, meaning no connection, which is good...

I’m not familiar with that type of meter, I’m sure many aren’t. If you want good advice from those results, maybe tell everyone what exact meter brand and model you are using, what setting it was on, and where exactly you are checking from and to? However, I still think you have a damaged...

😂 I almost wrote Duralast in my last post. You have crap batteries. Take them back and demand a warranty replacement. There is virtually no way to get an 8.6V reading, even on a single 12V battery, without a damaged battery. However, Google the tar out of AGM charge profiles, or read stuff...

Additional thoughts: 1 I’m guessing your jump box should be able to start your truck directly if you have a hot engine (no glow system) and can hook it to the cables without the truck batteries connected. That might be a useful test. 2 Someone smarter than me will chime in, but I think a 24V...

Batteries need to be disconnected and then charged separately with a proper AGM charger then load tested individually. I’m guessing you will find a dead cell on one of them. If they are a week old…. Infant mortality. What brand are they? I’m going to guess you bought them at a store that...

    Welcome to the 10-year club

😍! We’ve all been there. Sometimes I think I’ll never finish a project. Fortunately, I consider my 90% complete to be more functional than some peoples’ 110%! Construction method: long planning, short extreme swearing, follow-up planning! Materials: Yes

    Pebble trailer

I predict a massive meltdown of the company and customers with LED torches and Virtual Pitchforks.

Is regearing a Dana 35 really a waste of $$$?

You always break the one you don’t have, so if you carry both you’ll never break one. It would be interesting to develop a universal repair shaft, with splines and a break off or cut off section to create the shorter shaft from a longer one. Another idea that could make you into a hundredaire...

    Diesel heater fan only

This is completely a guess, but my guess is that most of the small Diesel Heaters / Chinese Diesel Heaters don’t have a fan powerful enough to draw through that filter or create much of a positive pressure in a camper sized space. It would probably be something you could measure with a decent...

Fundamentally, the only way for air to fill that line is if air gets drawn in somewhere, typically meaning fuel goes out too. Your pump would usually be a set of check valves, and shouldn’t allow flow backwards. Either the pump is failed open or partially open, or you have a leak. 2 other...

    Off Road proof oil storage

I keep oil in a liquor flask. Works well but is small. Have also used the small Nalgene bottles. Works just as well. Was recently reminded of the importance as I left a regular olive oil bottle in my chuck box “just for a while” and it all ended up soaked into everything soft!

2m HAM (Dual): Monitor two 2m frequencies?

It has been a very long time since I’ve programmed anything on my radio, but my first thought was also to scan the programmed frequencies. If you scan just 2-5 frequencies, it goes so fast you are essentially monitoring them all.

Timbren axleless axle bounces around when towing

Let a bunch of air out of your tires, until you can see a visible bulge, see if it calms down, if so, you have far too stiff of springs and need to soften springs or tires or both. Alternately, go buy bags of concrete from Home Depot, stack 1000 lbs in the trailer. If the bouncing is cured...

A Question for all You ExPo Vehicle Fabricators???

I’m pretty sure that the “oil and vinegar” at the salad bar aren’t exactly the same as what drips continuously from the bottom of the Rover, but I’ll check it out! I’ve seen a few Series Rovers in the lion enclosures at zoos too. I’m guessing they broke down there and the zoo got built around...

A Question for all You ExPo Vehicle Fabricators???

I’m also a fan of hot dipped galvanized, although that comes with its own set of design and finish challenges. Make Casa Azul look like a Series Rover!

Storage/sleeping platform: sourcing FRP honeycomb panels?

That feels like a lot of Unistrut. Most Unistrut is relatively heavy, not designed with weight in mind. In general, I would say that it makes a lot of sense to use over T-slot aluminum, but have you thought about using a stiffer base panel and much less Unistrut? Which strut are you planning...

Recommended adhesive for insulation to aluminum sheet.

it’s at least 13 better. I’ve been impressed by the spray 90. It seems like high $$$ but I used it to put commercial carpet squares on the diamond plate floor of my RTT. I was almost sure it would peel off in our 115 degree summers, but still firm and happy.

Not very safe buying things here

You should share the details of behaviors and communication. Even if painful / facepalm moments for you, the more people that see the red flags called out the more likely that others won’t get scammed.
