I could not find where it accepted an express van on the link you provided. If they had one that fit our vans , surely it would show up in the pop down menu right?
I did this one from amazon but be warned the price fluctuates wildly , I think I paid 150 a few years ago but the price would...
I would get a smaller compressor if its just for airing tires up . 2000w is really pushing it for a 15 amp draw and lord knows what that compressor draws at startup .
If the next thing down that you use only needs an 800w inverter you are really paying a lot to have the wrong compressor on...
Why is this a bad thing?
I have never had any problems with my van. If you are trying to get more power out of your 5.3, I would advise you not to.
300hp is already more than your 4L60E can take
I have one season in baja on the first ones you listed.
Love them and they made a huge difference for me but my OEM shocks were completely blown out when I replaced them so it was going from no shocks to the bilsteins
One thing to keep in mind with coscto is that if your membership lapses, you lose all your warranties.
Even things like car batteries and tires. I had a 4 year battery that quit after two years but since my membership had expired , I was out of luck.
If you are wondering how much power a 120v fridge with a pure sine needs, I can tell you that I do just fine with 340 watts of solar and two golf cart batteries
I did add an inch of foam board insulation all the way around so that is a big help.
I can camp on the beach in baja in winter...
I have run an RCA 110v dormfridge with a pure sign wave inverter for 4 years. Its been all over the baja peninsula and never given me any trouble.
I would rather spend more money on robust solar and more battery storage than an expensive fridge that uses less energy.
Offroading is hard on...
In my opinion , the low roof really dictates more specific layouts.
I did the classic westfalia layout in my AWD express van and I am very happy with it.
That would be amazing.
I am guessing that first gear in the six speed tranny is much lower than our stock first gear. That alone would make it worth it.
The too tall gearing of first and reverse are a constant source of frustration off road for me
As far as I know, there is no easy swap for the 4L60E and certainly not one that is not also a 4 speed.
Get a good rebuild done, mine cost about 1800 bucks and just live with it. Its the only weak link in our rigs.
I suppose you might be able to lower the gearing in the rear end?
Oil pressure is great, runs great, just seems to have developed a leak.
I just degreased the bottom and the front of the engine and will try to find some of that dye stuff.
Is there a front main seal that could have gone out?
225k miles on my van and never burned or leaked a single drop of oil .... until yesterday :(
Trying to track down a good sized oil leak that seems to be coming from the front of the engine and spilling mostly down the drivers side.
Of course the entire drive train is coated in oil already so...
I wonder if there were some common problems or you are just one soft cupcake.
First, if the doghouse is not latched properly , you will get surprising engine noise.
Second , some tires make way more noise than others
Third, if it was a cargo van with bare walls , it can be ungodly loud in...
Every person I know that used flexible panels has had them fail in pretty short order
Now you have a bunch of crappy adhesive on your roof for the next ten years
I absolutely love mine.
300 hp is plenty of power
The transmission is the weak link and you should never tow anything with this.
Yes you need to keep things light but its easy to do , my build includes solar , fridge , kitchen bed and tons of gear and I am fine on weight. Dont use particle...
That is way too much for our 4L60E transmissions to take. You are going to kill that thing, . I know our vans are rated for more than that, but in real life they just cant take it. The 4L60E is the weak link in an otherwise bulletproof drivetrain. I would not tow more than a few thousand...
