Maybe not a help in regards to your M-715, but below is a post I made regarding MRAP rims on the Mercedes LKW series of trucks. One of the issues is as most (not all) originally had dual rear wheels there is a need to 'flipped' them if they are on the rear to keep the front and rear tracks...
WOW, great find. Awesome rig at a killer price (for now, hopefully all the BAT people are ignorant of how cool 1313s are and this will end up in Alaska ;) )
@Czechsix "I'm still researching TGB vs Pinz"
Zarges (and Alu-Box) have been the go-to standard for decades. Lightweight, durable, waterproof and many are rated 'bear-proof'. Of course that comes with a matching price. But if you keep an eye out for surplus ones, they can be very reasonable. A guy had some for sale here on the Expo a year...
It must have met the reserve as it 'sold'. No idea as to the price as you had to watch the bidding live if you are not a member of the auction site.
Some of the auction photos as those have already disappeared.
UPDATE - with a lot more searching it looks like it sold for $71,500. Man, that...
When you have 40s, you don't have a regular life. Every trip is a parade, every meal is a banquet, every meeting is a congregation, every narrow trail is Lion's Back, every turn is the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca, every Influencers/YouTuber wants to be you, every tire salesman wants to be with you 😇
I'm glad to know I earned my commission 😇 Make sure your buddy sends it to the correct Venmo account - 40sROCK@PWXLsRule.com 🤪
Joking aside, that is certainly a dialed in truck, and awesome fitted/kitted out. With both of us in the PNW we will have to get together for an adventure as we both...
135,000. The prior owner (the most important thing on any vehicle purchase, even over 'equipment' IMO), was fanatical about maintenance/service. The 66RFE (6 speed) transmission that does not have a stellar reputation has a larger (2 addition qts) finned aluminums pan and he ran/runs Red Line...
I personally love the truck (Bias alert - I have a Power Wagon on 40s), BUT if you do not desired 40s, a portion of the added items are related to those.
AAM 5.13 AAM regear front/rear
Dodge Off-Road steering brace
Dethloff hydraulic steering assist
Synergy HD tie rod
Toyo 40x13.50R17 MT/R
AEV...
Note to self - Don't mess with Peter who uses a 62.5 kg (138 lbs for the 'tiny' portion of the world that uses the imperial system of measurement) winch, as a 'portable' winch.
Dang, I have a hard time moving mine without cable/rope around the garage. I am impressed. Who knew Vegemite...
That was me. For some reason when I was looking at the thread all the photos of your reinforcing (as per MB) did not show up, so it looked like (at that time), the frame was just buttwelded and nothing else. After posting all that info, when the thread refreshed, I saw the photos and all the...
WOW, very interesting build. Form AND function. This is going to be great to watch the progress. And with an assistant like that, you know it will come out awesome. Just don't teach her new words, especially when falling off non-OSHA stools.
I hate to disagree with @Deleted Member 183 (he knows where I live), but I'd keep the winch. it is just far too cool and useful to get rid of. All the factory engineering that went into the mounting, powering and cable runs/guides could and is not duplicated as well by 'xxxx'. Being a Mercedes...
It was pretty sad to be at the EarthCruiser shop today, with all the workers gone, and just buzzards (like me) picking stuff up
I got to visit the shop about 8-10 years ago and it was great seeing all the work going on. Of course back then it was just Fuso cabins.
Dang, I hope they...
I would laugh at the page and a half on 'sticker installation' with the related 'sticker hazard warning' if it were not for your experience. You would think with a sticker that dangerous, they would installed that at the factory in a controlled environment by highly trained personnel using the...
If Ferrari 250 GTOs which there were 35 of, sell for upwards of 70 million dollars, this 1 of 1 GZL has to be worth at least a cool million, right ?
@Deleted Member 183 is right. I did win it, but for significantly less than that cool million. ;)
