Excellent, another great write by Jeff.
I am really looking forward to following this trip.
Thanks for taking the time post trip to write it up...I am getting worse at that as the years go by :) but I really enjoy reading other peoples travels.
One thing I have seen recently that I really like is a bed that drops down from the ceiling. That way you can leave it messy and just raise it up to gain your rear space access.
This might help with building a sleeping setup in a Sprinter that didn't need to be side to side.
Personally with...
very cool that you got to see the "flash" part of the flash flood, not sure how willing I would have been to drive across the flowing creek but you were there and I wasn't so I trust your judgement.
Thanks for posting a great report with plenty of history, I really like that area and have...
great write up and pics....very nice to see you getting the little own out to play in the dirt.
Also very cool historical marker you found, I need to start stopping and reading more of those
Hey Bill,
I hope someone chimes in here...but I would have to say that ih8mud.com is more than likely a way better place to post this question.
They have both a section for 60 series and a diesel section and personally I would post in the both....but I bet you will get more response in the...
I saw info on this here on expo last year I think...and have been checking in on the website ever since.
You can now buy the dvd or digital download and it is worth every penny...amazing outdoor shots and if it doesn't make you want to hop in your rig and get to camp then nothing will :)
This is very much how I had my Troopie setup, except I left a walk space down the middle to make it easier to move from the front to the back ( and cuz I need some space for my fake leg).
The high top really gives a comfortable amount of space and side to side there was plenty of room for 2...
So Ben please do tell the story of the Adventure Trailer? Is it to take more goodies from show to show or more comfortable than the Roof Tent or ???
I never thought of you as a trailer guy so it would be good to hear your thoughts.
Great pics of course and I like the writeup...also the...
Great write up Larry and tons of fun camping with you guys at the OX12....that fried corn was the best!
The desert bighorn sheep on the rocks was a cool shot.
So on your rig, how did you know that bolt was loose....noise, feel ??
thanks for posting and see you guys soon again I hope
Ok next time Kristian just come on up and wave to get my attention
I am always talking to someone it seems, if not a person, then a tree, rock or myself :)
I look forward to getting up to Utah before you are gone as it would be great to see your simple overlanding style in action...and you...
I think you will be much happier with Sportsmobile in the near future as they work out the thought process behind a Fuso build.
You have to remember this is a complete departure from the vans they are used to building and this rig was pretty much still in wet paint when it left for OX12.
The...
Great pics John and a pleasure to meet in person...
You and Paul were fun to talk & walk with and I look forward to checking out your operation when we get over your way soon.
Now this is the kind of stuff that is a pleasure to read...and look over the great pics of course.
The part about Bev taking on Nigel's setup is priceless :)
I like how you guys are taking it easy, seeing the cool sights and good on you for respecting the other camper out on the Rim.
Looking...
Too funny Jeff,
I just picked up the InReach today for our Australia trip and plan on testing it out this weekend. I will be using with my wife's Iphone to start with as we are taking that with us. When I get back I will try it with my Andriod phone and see how I like it.
My plan is to use it...
There are a few interesting deals here on Expo
http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/78592-97-Chevy-Express-Quigley-4x4-semi-camperized-6000
and someone had linked to a 4x4 small bus/van that looked like it had promise
Hey some of the best trip reports on Advrider have guys staying in great little hotels/hostels in Central & South America...small towns with family run operations are way cool.
I am just amazing at how fast they are moving around North America and I hope they get to slow down at some point and...
I really hope you guys get a chance to slow down and really see things...
The time from Alaska to Moab to the Overland Expo and now to the East Coast is painfully short and really looks breakneck.
It almost seems counter overlanding culture as the ability to slow down and see remote backcountry...
