Hello folks.
I should have spent more time lurking but after years without a camper or anything, Im ready to buy something for my 8' 1997 truck bed..
Does anyone make a fiberglass pop-up? I like how leer topper caps clamp to the bed edge, and hoping I can find something like that but with a...
I found a trailer builder who will build me a narrow track 7x16 overland toy hauler which will be loaded to the gills. I want the wheels completely underneath the trailer with wheel wells and was thinking leaf springs, but what else is available for dual axle trailers? I'd like to have...
I noticed the ibex toyhauler and nobo toyhauler were practically the same at 7x21. Both had the curt independent trailer suspension. The Ember uses it as well.
Does anyone own a trailer with this suspension? Or any comments if you've compared it to others?
Thanks
I'm not sure where I read more than once that this was a advantage, but Ive had this idea stuck in my head but wonder if I'm getting carried away or how much merit it has..
To the folks who are actually running the same wheels on your vehicle on your trailer too.. Did you do it so that you...
Hey folks..
I imagine you've heard of people using 16" LT tires on travel trailers and the debate around that.. But if we move past the debate considering my TT will be a 7x16 cargo trailer weighing about 7k lbs, LT tires should easily handle that..
But what if you wanted to use the same...
I remember someone stating they had factory connections where they could order 7K torsion axles, with 3500# rubber inserts? Or in other words, a 7k axles sprung for a 3500#.
Does anyone know who this was, or where I could order a custom torsion axle like this?
Thanks
Hey everyone..
Ive been told to use slipper springs on a trailer that will see allot of forest service roads, but be more of a base camp trailer than a off road trailer..
Can anyone elaborate why use slipper? Because to me two bolts holding the spring is stronger than one..
Thanks!
Hey everyone..
I'm having a custom 7x16 narrow track enclosed trailer built so I have the ability to specify almost anything.. Since I'm installing two 50 gallon water tanks and the trailer will be packed with as much glamping gear I can stuff in plus a few motorcycles, Ive decided to install...
Morning everyone.
I finally found a outfit who will build me the trailer I want, how I want.
Jensen Trailers in Humboldt Iowa (three hours away) said they would build me a 7x16 single axle "narrow track" enclosed trailer with 7' ceiling, extended tongue, V nose, RV door/screen and two RV...
It makes no sense to me..
If the distance from the outside of the left wheel to the outside of right wheel is 7' for example.. Why narrow the the trailer to sit between the wheels?
Your already rolling over 7' of real estate.. Design the trailer body to maximize space and throw those...
It took me three years to find a clean dodge 4x4 5 speed 12 valve. Its only got 110K on it but the previous owner must not have cared about rock chips on the front because he ignored them and they are now rusting.
I wish this truck was white, because It would make painting easier. But since...
I think jeeps with their little expedition trailers definitely have their place. But what about a trailer for people who are willing to trade off some off road ability, for more space and ability to haul toys? What would a good setup or length be for a full size truck? I'm seriously thinking...
Ive been looking for a 7'x16 dual axle narrow track enclosed trailer to convert into a "overland" trailer, and Im even considering buying new as rare as they are. But I found a used single axle 7x14 narrow track trailer which got me thinking...
The single axle I'm guessing is going to fare...
Hello people..
I have a 14x7 Kiefer narrow track cargo trailer I would like to attach a big/huge tent to for sleeping and relaxing in. The trailer will have a bathroom and kitchen maybe.
The tent needs to be tall enough to walk in comfortably and be connected to either the rear of, or curb...
Ive finally narrowed my search down to the featherlite 4926 to replace my featherlite 24' toyhauler. Its a all aluminum (including the floor) 16' X 8.5' wide. I really like and want that width, and looks like featherlite is the only one who makes a shorter aluminum trailer that's 8.5' wide...
I'm considering aftermarket progressive leaf springs for my 88 F350 D60 front axle, but I haven't removed the existing 2wd front suspension to make room to measure how much arch I want.
Can anyone comment on how much arch their front springs were, and how much travel or lift they ended up with...
After my 2500 mile round trip to colorado (15k GCWR) , Iv determined my cummins rebuild is a success. 80 mph, 2300 rpm, 850 egt, 14 psi, 14 mpg.
Now I feel this project deserves the 4x4 conversion.. I have a 1988 ford D60 and understand no kits exist for its installation into my 95 E350. Im...
Now that I'm sure my rebuilt 6bt motor is capable of towing 15k combined as expected, I'm preparing to install my D60 king pin front axle and 4x4 NV4500 on my 1995 E350 cummins van.
Towing Video with 25 mph head winds
I'm starting to second guess my leaf spring suspension choice after...
