    Is a 3-axle HZJ79 a good idea?

Good point. It is listed in this ad as '3 axle' (but €17,150 cheaper than the following ads) https://www.auto24hrs.com/detail.php?listing=394980 And 4x6 here https://www.autoscout24.de/angebote/others-toyota-landcruiser-hzj-79-3-achser-klima-solar-diesel-690a601e-6222-4936-a9e3-3a180b014068...

    Is a 3-axle HZJ79 a good idea?

I am sure the drivetrain, suspension, etc are quite different, so a Vegemite to Nutella comparison, but a lot of great build info, and in-action videos of Patriot Camper's 6x6 'Mega' Toyota on their YouTube channel Link with 'Mega' search -...

    Locker or manual lockout hubs

Perhaps a schnitzel to steak comparison, but hey, more data, is more better. I added manual locking hubs to my Mercedes 1017AF *. I gained perhaps at best 0.5 mpg after the conversion. I noticed no difference in noise or vibration. As a reference, this was a 25,500 GVWR truck, at 13,940 lbs...

    Locker or manual lockout hubs

Is there a reason you can not have both, the locker and manual hubs? What axle are you planning on installing? For reference, I have a C4500 Kodiak that is stock with a Dana Super 70 with manual hubs, and will get an ARB locker hopefully this year. There are no issues with that combination.

GXV Mercedes Unimog U500 Worldwide Expedition Vehicle Camper Truck - FOR SALE - Exceptional Oportunity. (European/USA)

Out of my lane, 1) if the U500 was converted by GXV in the US, it might have started life as a USA truck and could be imported duty-free. The seller states "European Union (originally USA) registration" Re-Importing A Previously Exported Vehicle A vehicle taken from the United States for...

Merc 1124 AF Touring in Europe

My recent experience (last 24 months) with tolls if it is any help. All credit card references are USA-based cards. Southern France (Lyon south to Spain, full east to west) 95% touch or chip card works great, but a need cash for the 5% that were 'unhappy'. Spain, I had an 'OBE' (wireless...
